It was when I checked (for the version without bells and whistles). Yeah, I tried to buy an educational version but got stopped at the gate. I couple more years and I should have a niece entering college ;-).

    Double Cut Saw?

They're still making them and I have a Ridgid version that works as part of one of those swapable head/motor kits. I don't think it's a gimmick. It has a very specific window of need (nailing something in a tight space) but it works very well. It also nails soft metal nails (like...

I know...I've tried the same thing and just couldn't make the switch. I thought I was leaving my job a year or so ago and almost bought a Solidworks license at $1,200 US just because I got so frustrated with Sketchup.

    Bendpak MD-6XP ---- Summit Racing

A couple of extra threads showing does nothing to the strength or security of the bolt and nut (other than making a few of you feel better). There is plenty of exposed thread with that bolt. I wouldn't hesitate to engineer the fasteners that way if the clearance was needed.

What project have you inflicted on yourself this labor day weekend?

I started a wood project on a couple of mahogany quarterboards for a buddy's newly acquired 65' Chris Craft. Learned some video software in the process too (hoping to use some of this style video for our future business). (you want to talk about motivation to keep the shop clean?!)

that ought'a do it! I'm really glad I didn't see your gates before I built mine, I would still be welding scroll work in place. That looks spectacular.

    Critique my storage cabinet design

You could also pour a little concrete ledge...but by the time you do all of that, you might as well have hung them on the wall.
