I haven't connected up the panel yet, I keep getting conflicting information as I'm browsing around the site looking at other things. The 2/0 wire is good to about 125A at the 175ft distance I'm running it, so isn't it dangerous to backfeed it with the 200A main? Sorry to keep dragging this...

Thanks for the warning, I just spotted these as well as the white ones at wally world over the weekend. How are they in cold weather? I think I saw on one of the boxes they would start at -20F.

Thanks for the info guys. I have decided to return the breaker and save the $70. I'll be hooking the 2/0 into the pass-thru lugs at the house (which is fed from the 200A main), and I'll have a 125A main in the panel out at the shop, roughly 175ft away. Should be fine right?

I could still kill the 200A main in the panel and it would kill the shop panel... only difference would be if I add a 125A breaker then I could kill the shop panel at the house and leave the others on.. which right now is just the single 30A for a RV receptacle. I already bought the 125A...

Thanks, I wouldn't consider using the aluminum except that I have about 10ft of it left over. So there wont be any issues with the aluminum corroding due to soil or moisture? Another thing I realized is that the 200A panel that is going to be feeding the 125A panel in the shop has "feed-thru"...

Well in my case the wire will enter the shop in the conduit before it enters the inside panel.. I suppose in this case MHF wouldn't be up to code in this 3' spot. I had found some 2/0-3 here locally for $1.57ft, and the 2/0-3 plus #1 is $2.41 a foot.. I guess I need to call back and find out...

I'm considering the same thing for my 30x50x13, although I was looking on craigslist for something around a 5 ton. The winters here in Arkansas aren't usually that bad, on the other hand the summers can be pretty miserable. In June of this year, we had temps pushing 110F.
