Am I the only one who hates multi-mode flashlights?

In the abstract choice is good. The problem is that bozo engineering/design can diminish the utility of choices.

Whatever you use, remember that you want another light to help change batteries. Your phone will do if it is there.

Need New A/C Or Heat Pump

I'm disappointed in my writing. Our goal is 1) to get some kind of air conditioning, and 2) to minimize anxiety over the 33 year old furnace. Then I'll have some anxiety over the new one!

Need New A/C Or Heat Pump

Thanks! Danski: I read what you have previously written here on GJ and I'll look for those results. Enlarging ductwork sounds traumatic!

Need New A/C Or Heat Pump

We had a house built in Colorado Springs in '92 from 2,000 miles away. We were living near exceedingly hot and muggy D.C. and chose no air conditioning for the new house. 33 years later things have changed! We need advice. We've never hired a contractor (for anything large) and know nothing...

    Battery Maintainer

I bought a Weego 1 amp charger/maintainer ( https://myweego.com/products/trickle-charger ) at the end of last year. My truck battery consistently measured ~12.3 volts when it was unused for a few hours (ignoring parasitic loads). Now, weeks after a few days and nights of...

That is not 1% per year. Isn't that actually over four days or two weeks or something. Big difference.

Icon Snap on long nose talon pliers coming out soon?

No,,, tires are the same. Only the coefficient of friction counts. If e.g. most of the "contact patch" is in the air due to a rock the coefficient of friction remains the same. You can easily distort the remaining contact and lose the coefficient of friction but that is a different problem...

    Can a Calculator be Vintage?

I have my old man's 4081 which I believe is pre-WWII. The way I know it is a 4081 is that the manual says so. I bought my own (at the local K&E store!) in '60 or '61 and the box it came in says "OLD 4081-3". My fathers is better than mine as his has even feeling friction to the extreme ends...

    Cost for rewiring.......

A view from 2,000 miles away: insurance companies don't want to insure anything in Florida. They'll look for any excuse.
