    Need garage electrical advice

Thanks for this. Currently there is no plug on the compressor. The wiring was removed before I got it so it will need a cord. So if I understand you correctly I should ask the electrician to upgrade the circuit to 30 or 50 amps (Probably 30 as I will only want a small welder I think) and then...

Got a free air compressor, need to rehab it and wire it up. Need advice.

It appears the motor on my air compressor is locked up and needs to be replaced. The specs are in the attachment. I assume that as long as I get a Frame 56 3 hp 3450 rpm single phase, 16 amp and 60HZ and switch over the pulley I should be good to go? Does anyone have recs for a manufacturer that...

It says 14awg so should this be upsized? If I use a small welder like mentioned above and the compressor, it looks like that plug will work? I just need the wiring upgraded?

See attached info I can look at the actual motor tomorrow but the specs on the I've attached the plate for the motor. It appears to be a 3hp. I'll need to replace this I think. Does anyone have any recs? The factory part is fairly pricey.

I don't know the breaker but I can find out when electrician comes next. In any case, you're saying the wire run there needs to be bigger?

Got a free air compressor, need to rehab it and wire it up. Need advice.

I have a Speedaire 4b236b 60 gallon compressor for my new garage project. It was not working when it was given to me (hum coming from motor but no movement). The motor itself seems to have compression etc so I think it's worth fixing up. Here are my questions... 1. I want to plug the compressor...

I'm doing a garage apartment above my current garage. We needed to run a subpanel there and so I'm taking advantage of the extra HP provided by new service to the apartment and installing a car charger outlet and a 220 outlet for a compressor and possibly other goodies like a welder down the...

Hi all, I have a 1954 or 1955 Craftsman Heritage Oval logo 10 drawer toolbox like the attached (I'll post pics of mine when I get home). It's in good structural if not cosmetic shape. I've used it for about 30 years and my dad used it before that so it has some sentimental value. First, any...
