Agreed, unless your dry wall is in poor condition I would leave well enough alone. Just remove all of the wall paper and refinish the walls in your favorite colors. If you go with the removal of the drywall might just as well do a complete rewire when you have the walls open.

We need to convert to all metric. Including all measurements as that is what the rest of the world uses. But this is the USA.
