Although not hi-tech, it keeps the barrel of the gun clean. The bracket is from Tractor Supply but I've seen them elsewhere. It's a paper towel held in place with a rubber band. The mount is positioned right over my trash can.

I think I did pretty much what you're considering. For me it worked as I had hoped.

I've had no regrets since purchasing my '64 - and that was 24 years ago. Here's a strong recommendation to go for one (just not mine).

Pretty sure that interlocking "DB" hub cap is actually - Dodge Brothers.
