Smallish attached 2 car, from @%#^ mess, to '60's pop-art retro service station/diner

Yep, since doing the garage, it's always working overtime. I have replaced almost all the lighting now. The latest was replacing the last 4 - 4 foot fluorescents with the 2x4 flat panel LEDs. I don't have time to post all the projects. It still always seems I am working on the car (lol) but...

Well along with the many projects including some winter upgrades for the 'stang, I am up to my own mission on imitating the Griswalds ;) Amazing what you can do with some ribbon and PVC pipe. Made this up in a couple hours. What took the longest was sanding down all the pipe so it was nice and...

So among the many many projects I have taking place from time to time, in the garage, there is this nightmarishly long bathroom renovation, that I've been working on. So a couple of photos of just the bathtub. To arrive at the marble tub surround there is a couple hundred bucks worth of marble...

Got a few more parts. So out of these, I am going to mould some carbon fibre brake inlet ducts and caliper dust covers/intakes. I have my vacuum pump also, so it will be my first go at vacuum bagging. Should be fun

Fighting with replacing the balljoints over the past couple days. I did three and then got stuck with my crescent wrench slipping off the ball joint end (threaded spin on balljoints) on the last one. I ordered the wrench. I think I'll be patient and wait until I get it rather than risk damaging...

I'll take some photos of my stands, and how I got the car up there within a few days. Essentially I made two pair of stands for each wheel, that interlock together. I also made some half height sections, just in case I get stuck. I made an elevated platform for the floor jack also. It's all...

Next comes working on the new 3" exhaust for the 'stang. Added some flex couplings to dampen the vibration, then polished up the stainless steel, before installing it. Lots of work still, but the 3" exhaust should free up some horsepower.

Still utilizing the garage to build stuff, like crazy. I really like the upgraded garage lights. It really helps in the duldrums of winter. Anyway, one of the projects has been adding a Raptor look kit to the FX-4. I couldn't justify the budget for the real Raptor, and after test driving one, I...

I picked up two high intensity LED lights for the garage. It really brightens things up and should work well in making the shop/garage more appealing and easier to work in during the dreary winter months They work great :)

So after machining and balancing. The flywheel checked out The pressure plate was almost 1/2 pound out of balance. I got everything back together about a week or so ago, and honestly it is like a totally different car ( I guess that I should not be surprised) Next project to revamp the...

Smallish attached 2 car, from @%#^ mess, to '60's pop-art retro service station/diner

Back to the 'stang again. \ An annoying vibration has been present for a while, so in preparation for a lot of much needed work under chassis, I made some cribbing so I could have the car up nice and high. Technically I could go another 10" +/- before hitting the garage ceiling. Then my trunk...

Thanks :) Well, like a lot of us, as the body ages, health issues crop up. And I am no different. I've been lucky until now, but have had some challenges over this year, and it came to a head over the last 6 weeks. When the body falls apart, unfortunately one can't slap a bunch of new parts...

Smallish attached 2 car, from @%#^ mess, to '60's pop-art retro service station/diner

It's been a busy time both in work and life, with lots of challenging times. I thought I would update and let everyone know that since converting the garage (even though it gets messy at times) it is a fun and excellent place to work, even in what seems like an endless dreary, rainy...

Got my little shipment of 96 Crown Bolts, so installed those this morning on the doors. Not really a Victorian design touch, but I kinda like them.

I actually have a Faux-graining kit, but the garage wood panels are a thin beaded pine veneer plywood So to confess I did not do any beading on those doors. I may try the faux finish on my shed doors in the back yard. To do faux beading you would have to add a clear glaze to the finish, then...
