    My old 24x23 Garage Rebuild

So I didn't get much done over the week. I dug out some more dirt and found an old cistern. It was already mostly filled, I just removed the large rock piled on top and filled the rest in with dirt and put a few large stones on top and buried them. I took down the basketball hoop, replaced...

    My old 24x23 Garage Rebuild

The retaining wall will be a good 4-5ft from the garage. We may end up going with stone, we just happened to have a few railroad ties laying around.

    My old 24x23 Garage Rebuild

I had a post going in the general section, but decided to just start one here and keep it updated. The sill plate and a lot of studs are rotted in my garage along with the crappy siding. I am in the progress of replacing the sills, studs, then the siding. The plan is to install some faux ston...

I am calling a guy today about digging out the section next to the garage and will probably lay down some rock and either...

Where did you get this door? Is it fiberglass or steel? I briefly looked on the ProVia website but did not see this particular door.

    Replacing sill plate

I think it would be easier to dig out the area next to the garage. I want to dig the entire section out and level it, build a small 2-3' retaining wall, and use it as extra parking eventually anyway. The grassy section in the picture is about 7-8' wide between the garage and alley.

    Replacing sill plate

Thanks for the replies guys. I was going to focus on one section at a time, probably starting with the worst section that is pictured. There is some rot in a few of the studs so I will have to cut and sister in a new section of stud. I am going to the lumberyard after work so I will pick up...

    Replacing sill plate

So the wife and I decided to reside our garage which currently has some rotted wood panels for siding. We knew the cause of the rotting was the dirt build up on the side of the garage, but did not know it was this bad. We started to dig out the side of the garage and little did we know that...
