Snap On (gold) as mentioned numerous times here are very nice. A few people said they didn't like the SK's but my experience with them is pretty good on torx and hex bits. Not as solid as the Snap On, but quite good.

$150 for a Tech 1000, even an older one, is freaking spectacular. Fill out the location in your profile so it shows on your posts and I bet someone local to you will reach out with some good tool sources near you.

No real estimate on the age. Previous owner said be bought it surplus from a local Lockheed facility... so at least old-ish, but certainly is the same design as the truly 'vintage' Huots.

Some ebay wrenches. Matco WCL set 10-22 missing 14 and 17 was an OK but not smoking deal. The SKs and the industrial Snap Ons were a much better deal. Will be finishing both sets out as soon as good deals come up. My truck tools are going to get much fancier.

It's been a while since I've had any boxes that qualify as vintage, but I picked up this Huot on Saturday... $30! It's so clean I'm not totally certain it is actually vintage, but it certainly has the vintage look. I think it will serve me well as a detail cart and detail supply storage unit.

My understanding on ratchets - M=Midget 1/4 dr, F=Ferret 3/8dr, S=Standard (Guess?) 1/2 dr. Some of the letters added to that over the years make sense (L=Long, F=Flex, H=handle) but some don't (X=locking, etc). Boxes used to be KR___ part numbers. They added the -A and -L before the number...

My two local stores still have a fair bit of this stuff left. No sledgehammers though.
