    Motorcycle Lift

That looks identical to the one sitting in my shop. As mentioned, this one is (IMO) much better than the HF units (which I was looking at as well). The x-lifts (or scissor lifts) are much nicer than the "swing" lifts, because the bike stays put as it lifts up. The lift is pretty much a direct...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

Agreed. These are near worthless. The tips may as well be made of butter. I think I'll have to **** it up and buy some Snap On units.

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

Yup, I'm for real. My other chrome extensions have worked well so far (Craftsman, SK, Snap On). My main concern with the extensions above is the fact that their retention is poor, and they won't stay on the gun (or hand ratchet).

Harbor Freight 13 drawer tool boxes $271.99

Ummm...good point. Lol For some reason the wires in my brain got crossed. I read $359, and was thinking "$279". Whoops!

Harbor Freight 13 drawer tool boxes $271.99

Just received an e-mail flyer. 4 day sale (14th - 18th, IIRC), toolbox on sale for $359. I'll post the ad when I get home from work, if it hasn't been posted already.

    Shop vacs

I have a small 5 gallon Shop Vac in the garage, and a larger (16 gallon?) Rigid in the shop. I can't stand the Shop Vac unit. The locking setup the use for the lid is the worst I've ever seen. I've always moved the units by grabbing the top handle, and carrying the new location. With the...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

True, but the "fall off of the tool" issue is equally applicable to my Craftsman ratchets. :(

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

Tried out my newly purchased 1/2" deep well SAE socket set (purchased on clearance for ~$12), as well as the wobble extension set (item # 31203) http://www.harborfreight.com/9-piece-wobble-extension-set-31203.html I'm mildly disappointed with both. The wobble set has a very poor, cheap...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

I second this. I purchased a couple of the units on the bottom, and wish I hadn't. Hard to get the wrenches in / out, and mine also broke. The plastic seems brittle.

Yet another thing I didn't know I needed, and now I can't live without!

Hansen vs. The New Harbor Freight Pittsburgh Pro Socket Trays

Checked my HF today, when I picked up a set of the clearance 1/2" deepwell SAE impacts. They didn't have any in stock, either. I really, really thought I was going to go with the Hansens. After reading this, seeing the pics, and (biggest factor) the price difference...I think maybe I'll go...

Harbor Freight 13 drawer tool boxes $271.99

While I believe that's probably the case, there doesn't seem to be a downside to waiting. The $350 coupons are valid through April, and there will probably be more of them out between now and then. In the meantime, you never know what you'll find on Craigslist.

Harbor Freight 13 drawer tool boxes $271.99

I hear 'ya. If it hits the $27x.** amount again, I'm pulling the trigger on it. In the meantime, it seems like there's no hurry to pick it up with the $350 coupon...that coupon is good through April.

    Hansen Socket Trays: $7

I asked them about that, and they said "if it's not on the shelf, I can order it but it'll be quite a bit more expensive." Looking on their site, it looks like they indeed list the Hansen organizers. $9.99 for the 1/4 and 3/8, $11.99 for the 1/2"...

    Hansen Socket Trays: $7

Outstanding! I was just looking for these today! FWIW, O'Reilly Auto Parts stocks the 1/4" and 3/8", for $9.99 each. They didn't have the 1/2" in stock, though.

    3/8 impact...MG325, 2115TiMAX, or rebuild my old IM31?

I'll have to bring the IM31 home from work, tear it down, and see what it looks like inside. It seems to run and "act" fine, it's just really, really weak. I let another tech borrow it the other night. I asked him what he thought of it, when he returned it. His reply? "It's really weak."...

    KNIPEX Lowes Cobra deal

Ran by my local Lowe's while running some errands. I had called first with the item number, to make sure they had them in stock. They said they had 4 in stock. When I get there I notice they have a Knipex display, but no combo pack listed anywhere. I went to a cashier with the part number...

    3/8 impact...MG325, 2115TiMAX, or rebuild my old IM31?

My old Snap-On IM31 3/8 impact is toast. It's super weak, and time for a rebuild or replacement. The three options, as I see it, are to 1) rebuild the IM31, 2) pick up an MG325 (to match my MG725), or 3) pick up a 2115TiMax. Several guys in the shop have the IR guns, and they seem to like...

    KNIPEX Lowes Cobra deal

I'm going to hit up Lowe's later this afternoon for a return, and to pick up a pair of these. Just so I understand correctly...Lowe's will honor "competitor's coupons", and you all have been able to get them to honor the Harbor Freight 20% off coupons?

Tell me about the Snap-on Student program

I'm a student in the local Machine Tool Technology (manual machining, CNC, etc) program at a local tech college. I work as a tractor mechanic for a large trucking company. I signed up for the student program via the website. I was approved within a day or two, if I recall. I've been happy...
