Combination wrenches with Rachet - suggestions requested

    Clever reversing lever ...I wonder if it ever self-switches if ratcheted to an obstruction that would press the button. Missing 11mm which I find I actually use 8mm x 10mm, 12mm x 14mm, 13mm x 15mm, 16mm x 18mm, 17mm x 19mm Reviews compare it to the Carlisle brand...

I hear ya. I do like the open/box combo because sometimes you need one AND the other on the same job so a 17mm is a 17mm as needed. Nice link to the double end box ratchets. Now if they were had a reversible lever they'd be even cooler.

Combination wrenches with Rachet - suggestions requested

Thanks to this GJ thread, it pointed me to Williams - "Look into Williams Taiwan made wrenches. Same thing as Blue Point but at a much better price" https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/blue-point-wrenches.257736/#post-4154201 Though the Williams' look to be 6-point vs. Snap-On...

Combination wrenches with Rachet - suggestions requested

I'll see if I can get a pic of something in my tool box...For now, look at the Bluepoint vs the Facom - look at the ends of the open end. The Facom is more like a circle/thick at the ends and the Bluepoint ends come more to a point (thinner at the ends). That thinness allows them to reach in...

Luxury tool - your suggestions requested Ratcheting combination wrenches While loving the Craftsman non-ratcheting combination wrenches for the last 35+ years I've tried a number of ratcheting type which I have not loved. One feature I love about the Craftsman which doesn't show up until...

How to install a 9' garage door in this brick/block wall?

Yeah, I was thinking of that The issues would be 1) I'm not sure how the joints of the blocks which are on the inside line up with the joints of the brick on the outside . could be investigated. 2) The L channel/angle would show on the outside which (maybe) I'd feel compelled to trim over...

How to install a 9' garage door in this brick/block wall?

I can see how the slider might look like it's a part of the existing brick wall because of the 2D photo..... The glider actually is in front by a couple feet the brick wall is the back side of a brake garage so it's effectively the bottom part of a U. To install the wooden header I plan...

How to install a 9' garage door in this brick/block wall?

Lintel, thanks, that's helpful! Points me in a direction. Another project, another opportunity to acquire skills in do not currently have! Considering the potential complexity of a lintel in an existing retrofit and that it'll be in the backyard, I may just do a tall header and eliminate the...

Thanks! Wouldn't have known where to start. ... Being more of a metal guy than a wood guy.... Says it is for driving pins....ummm, what kind, why, and how? Definitely a catalog for tradesmen - In the description "feature that needs no explanation"...I can guess the V feature might be for but...

How to install a 9' garage door in this brick/block wall?

How to install a 9' garage door in this brick/block wall? Main question is how to support the remaining brick/block and what kind of header to put in and how?.....or would it make more sense to take it all out to the top plate and just do a wood header? The wall is all brick on the outside and...

What size lift slab to build? - How much extra space front, rear, and sides?

Thanks for confirming the measurements. Based on that looks like the max/min away from the post that I can do for the 5ft distance of the main lift points on the Vanagon would be from right up to the post to a max of 2ft-4in (28") This really helps with the layout of the vehicle/post...

What size lift slab to build? - How much extra space front, rear, and sides?

Thanks and I don't fully follow those measurements. Is the following the correct interpretation? OD king pin to OD lift pad (hockey puck) 34.5" All arms closed 51.25" (+16.75) with middle diameter section extended 74.75" (+23.5) with last section extended so all sections extended
