    Tool brand preferences

Im one of those guys that has no preference. A majority of my tools have come from Sears, Harbor Freight, Menards, Home Depot, Hartville Hardware, Tractor Supply, and Rural King. Select few from Grainger and Fastenal. The one guy I used to work with said it best. "Electrician? you're no...

    Tool advice?

When I started out, I had a portable tool box from Harbor freight, with a mix of craftsman, gearwrench and pittsburgh. It takes time. like it was said SK, Proto, Wright, Gearwrench, along with the tool truck brands. If it was me, I would start with a roll cart. Homak makes a nice 7 drawer roll...

    Craftsman Industrial 2016?

Honestly, the Craftsman Industrial line long pattern, raised panel, black oxide wrenches are some of the better wrenches I've had. They have a grip on the open end so you couldn't slip off the bolt, comparable to the wright grip or the snap on flank drive plus.

Why do you buy the tools you buy?

When I was younger I would help my grandpa work on tractors and machinery on the farm. One day I asked why do you have 5 of these, eight of those and he said "you "can never have enough tools. His shop had one long workbench and pegboard scattered with tools and I told him one day I'm going to...

Regular guys, what's your Sears alternative?

My boss told me that from day one, and even told me if you can't afford quality just hit it with a hammer a few times and turn it in. However I am limited to Fastenal, McMaster-Carr, and Grainger for my selection of tools.

Regular guys, what's your Sears alternative?

Proto, SK, Gearwrench, Channellock, Greenlee, Klein. Any tool I break at work or home, from craftsman to pittsburgh I turn in at work order the brand I want and they replace it for free. They even replaced my tool cart when a tow motor operator decided to send it over the shipping dock.
