Check Milsurp generators....MEP generators are big and will run circles around most other brands. I have a MEP003 1800 rpm 4cyl diesel.

Check out the military surplus generators......I have a MEP-003 diesel 10kw....runs at 1800 rpm and is good for about 13kw all day long. It is built like a Sherman tank.

If the mower backfired and died, you might want to check the flywheel key....a sheared key could prevent spark. The backfire could also indicate the coil going bad.

What is your average low temp when it is cold? I have a dual-stage dual-fuel system. It uses a heat pump (two stage) down to about 38f, then will automatically change over to NG (two stage burners there too).

If you are really needing ~10kw, have you considered a Milsurp MEP generator? I have a MEP003 rated at 10kw, 1800 rpm diesel. Not easily "portable" but can trailer it anywhere and built to run for weeks without stopping...and fairly easily repairable......and not expensive either.

Buy once, cry once.....love my MEP-003A......loud, ugly, built like a WW2 tank and will run circles around most generators.

Go to the corian website and search for repair people. We just had a countertop crack in our kitchen fixed. One time it is best to leave it to the professionals. They used a router to cut a V-notch along the crack. Then used one of the trivets we had ( also made of corian) to cut a matching...
