so started framing the garage today, 4 walls & the 18 foot header, not bad progress for 6 hours work

few more.....now i need to start figuring lumber. i think im going with a truss, found a local company who quoted under $700 delivered

here is a few after the concrete contractor was done

so we found a few soft spots in the excavation of the existing drive. went to plan B which included placing a 4oz nonwoven geotextile fabric and then crushed aggregate instead of sand for the base(for the whole driveway) and finally the contractor is using a rebar mat(just in the soft...

firefox says everything, including add-ons, are all up to date. its weird because i can go to the HAMB website, which is essentially the same thing and it works fine in firefox...just not this site

ive tried, the past several days, to login using firefox browser and something is just not right...ive attached a pic showing what it looks like. anyway when i use internet explorer it works fine but in firefox it does not....wont let you do certain things like upload pics

part of this project includes the driveway to the street and also moving the exisiting sidewalk from a north-south path to a east-west path...to connect the entry with the driveway

few days later had a portion of the new drive poured

had the slab poured

so they dug the footings, set forms for the slab and got all rebar ready. i call for the inspection monday then we place concrete tuesday if all goes well

My new house is 100 yrs old, had a fire in 2007. it was gutted and remodeled in 2008 and we moved in this last January. Unfortunately it had no garage and the driveway was toast after all the fire trucks and construction vehicles. So started this week on the garage, first thing was to clear 3...

i would like it bigger but am limited by space on my lot & more importantly...money.

joined in october, i think, migrated over from the HAMB. just finished signing paperwork for my garage today, getting concrete done by a pro and then attempting to build my 18'x22' garage myself...should be fun

im looking for something that can enter in my dimensions, spans, height, etc.....and get me close on lumber for my building.

anyone else ?
