Bendpak decision: Good, Bad & Ugly

Hey Poor thanks for checking back. I haven't updated because I have been waiting to see the end results of how BP Customer Service resolves my ongoing problem with a defective hydraulic ram. Lift was installed with no substantial issues aside from a defective air valve used to release the air...

    Advice on Lennox 14HPX-036

My bad, air handler model info provided is CBXUH-036. Have no idea what to expect as fas as the cost to run in the winter with the electric heating coil. Also important that the outside unit with compressor is quiet as very close to bedroom windows.

    Advice on Lennox 14HPX-036

Located in lower Hudson Valley of NY, cold winters and warm humid summers. Need to replace current central air system as old and leaking R22. House has oil fired boiler with hydronic baseboards. Always difficult to heat in winter due to not enough baseboard and no option to add more as no more...

    Folding workbench?

Yup......what he said! For small jobs around the house/outside or even when helping out a friend the fold-up Keter workbench is friggin great. Got mine at Northern Tool when it was being offered on sale with free shipping.

I agree extra cost for the coil but still seems steep considering coil looks to be adding an additional $1500, why the standard ac portion so expensive. Correct, no natural gas. Have 275 oil tank in crawl space. Also correct, current air handler is for ac only. Air handler also located in crawl...

Snapped couple pictures of gable end wall with 16' slider and other glass. House is 26'x45' with open floor plan and 18' cathedral ceiling. Only have 35' of hydronic baseboard in the entire living/dining/kitchen area combined. 3 small Bedrooms and small bathroom on separate zone with their own...

Heil 16 Seer & First Company Air Handler

Yup, crazy high prices to me as well. Friend in another part of the state just replaced their central AC system with a Raheem 5 ton unit at cost of $8K. Their house about 2-3X bigger than mine. Don't quite understand the pricing to replace mine, no way can spend $11K.

Was also quoted a Mitsubishi system as detailed with 3.5 ton air handler and 3.5 ton Hyper Heat heat pump. Trying to educate myself and make the best decision here so any help is appreciated. Both systems priced way above what I expected. Was thinking $6-$7.5K but these prices are almost double...

Heil 16 Seer & First Company Air Handler

Most likely not enough linear feet of baseboard. 16' four panel slider on gable end and lots of glass coupled with 18' cathedral ceiling. No more area for additional baseboard. Considering swapping baseboard for high output baseboard. Priced out Mitsubishi heat pump but that was even more$$$

Any help greatly appreciated. Need to replace a 14 year old Frigidaire 10 Seer 4 ton central AC system. Surprised at how pricey this system is. Anybody familiar with these components please share thoughts on quality and pricing. Heating coil quoted as well since existing hydronic baseboard...

Air compressor flow and plumbing question

I'm going with a 1/2" jumper as already have one and I don't think it will be an issue.

Air compressor flow and plumbing question

I believe Bondo's got it right. At least that's my thinking and I'm about to run some copper lines from my compressor as well. Planning on running 3/4" on my horizontal main line and drops. As others said, at the end of the day the price difference isn't that much unless you're really running...

    Pole vs Stick vs metal?

$10K including concrete floor is a very nice price for the building you described. If only there for a few years that sure sounds like the way to go. I would want a 3" concrete floor with rebar at a minimum so no issues for you or the next owner.

    My BendPak HD-9 is here...

Well said, exactly what many of us do to our cars when we make mods to well designed equipment. Personalize it and make improvements to an already great piece of machinery/equipment. Keep those install pictures and comments coming as many who intend to or already have a lift certainly learn from it.
