Back in the dark ages it helped the oil drain quicker since it improved the flow. Now though it makes no difference. I extract the oil, and have no issue with a warm or cold engine.

Excellent stuff, i havent had a bad thing from them. If you're in the UK search Primetools on ebay. They're an official dealer, buy from them and everything has a lifetime warranty (mostly). The ratchet spanners they make are the best out there imo.

To use as a ratchet?

I only use my electric ratchet in the cab. Hate it otherwise, far too bulky. I'd choose the small astro impact ratchet over it any day.
