You didn’t over pay where I am. I’m all about the base though.

Thanks Torqueman. I did a paint match with a vidmar to complete a base I built to match. Your grinder looks great. I will have to consider going that route if I can’t find a spray.

Has anyone found a spray paint that is close to the original Baldor blue/gray?

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Yes. Disassemble and check the rest of the vise. Here is a thread that will help you out with that. In short, I strip mine, replace anything broken or not to my liking, paint, lube, and put it to work (or for sale to get another one)...

I am a huge fan of the Wilton C series vises. A C2 replaced a 1760 on my bench. I would absolutely get a replacement base. Here is a link to one on eBay sold by autopts, which is who Drives was referencing. https://www.ebay.com/itm/154280133033 Just do the research to make sure you get one that...

    Baldor matching paint color?

Lu-Max, Pulled up this older thread. I just got an 8250W that I am trying to get back to the original color. What did you end up doing? Based on what some of the other posts said I found that Gemini sells paint through Kelly-Moore Paints. However, I don't know whether they sell it in a spray...

That’s a pretty sweet set up. Just got done reading the vise/grinder stand forum again.

Picked up this Baldor 8250W today. Been looking for one for a while that was reasonable. Had to share it with someone other than the wifey…she wasn’t as impressed as I was. $100. Missing a few things but runs perfectly!

Metal Cabinets vintage or homemade and no name toolboxes. got any to show please do

Finally complete. Got the vidmars side by side, on a base and bolted down/together. I used the roughest butcher block I had because after all it’s a workbench. Got the C2 mounted. This thing isn’t going anywhere. Also got $50 out of the old one. From a scrap wood workbench I built 16 years...

I had the same problem on a C2. First set cracked an ear tapping lightly with a dead blow. Next set I heated up and pushed into place with gloves on and small taps with a dead blow. Still a slight crack on both ears of my dynamic jaw. Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal

Here’s one I did. I think the sage green will look good. Can’t find the old verde green out here anymore. Sold it the other week to make room for the “new” C2. Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal

Drives, the static/back jaw is stationary and doesn’t move. It operates like a normal vise. Shiftless, good to know I’m not the only one that changes their location on all their apps looking for deals while traveling. Concur with the C series Wiltons. Mine is a C2 and it’s the best...

Metal Cabinets vintage or homemade and no name toolboxes. got any to show please do

Drives, one of the butcher blocks is going on the top of the two vidmars. It will fit perfectly. The two vidmars are 60” exactly side by side. You can’t beat a 2” thick block top. The one I’m building now will replace the wood bench I built 15 years ago. It was built with scrap wood and some...

So the butcher block tops worked out. I ended up with three of them 60”x30”x2”. Came with two bases from Advance Engineering Co. out of Los Angeles. One will be my new workbench top. The rest will probably end up sold. Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal
