    Junkyard finds

I used to spend about every other weekend at the 'yards. I still go but not as much. I've found a 18mm gearwrench (my set went 17 to 19 I think) pliers, hammer, few sockets, breaker bar, screwdrivers. All of these are in my 'yard bag of "tools I won't mind losing". What i did find and didn;t...

    Craftsman after Christmas sales

Anyone waiting to see what they try to dump this year? I'm not doing any purchases until after the holidays. Once Sears weighs in today and tomorrow and sees how much they made during the holidays I'm thinking we may see some good price drops. Maybe more $20 gearwrenches and 50% off sales?

    Another Sears.com Price Issue

It won't add to the check out cart for me. Sure seems like they do it on purpose. There is a 6 drawer top box BB for $109 that seems like a decent deal.

I have become a Pittsburgh Junkie!

I saw the swivel heads and read about them on here too. I went and looked at them and the first one i picked up had a loose red handle that slid off the ratchet. I passed on the purchase... My pick-a-part toolbag is filled with Harbor Freight and Taiwan tools and I have yet to have any real...

Sears 50% off tool deals! 10/9-10/14

I'll pick up the prybars, other stuff not so good to me. If I didn't have a folding blade already i'd get it. I really like those utility knives.

    Evolv tools at Sears

it's supposed to appeal to the earth friendly people. "hey look, we have super earthy packaging and basic construction to make you think you are helping the environment by buying it. It has nothing to do with us spending far less for packaging while you still pay the same amount for a cheaper...

A "Made in the USA" PDF file/Page of info

I agree. I's annoying to hear that they need (fake number) 70% usa made to comply with standards and so, instead of doing the manufacturing and letting it land at 80% or 98% for the best tool they will scratch and weasle around so that it lands exactly at 70% usa made and not a penny more.

Survey with Prize - What Interior Socket Color?

not an industrial user Voted that it doesn't make a difference to me I'd also add that if it lowers the cost to have one over the other, while not lowering the strength or durability then go with the cheaper of the two.

Are Blue-Point and Duralast tools thes same????

looking at them they do seem to have a similar machined groove at the base of the socket. Duralast paints in the groove, snap on doesn't. Hard to tell without a true side by side comparo

Are Blue-Point and Duralast tools thes same????

I bought a combo set of metric short and deep Duralast sockets a while back. Was a few bucks cheaper than the non-sale Craftsman. Then we had the $5 off $5 coupon fiasco and I tripled my socket collection with laser etched Craftsman with rails. Now the Duralast set is in my Salvage Yard...

All GearWrench ratchet wrenches 50% off @ Sears (6/27-6/28)

wish I could have used a coupon or gotten in on a mistake (most likely will get caught and rejected anyhow) but... I had $30 laying around so I picked up a set of MM stubbies. Don't "need" them, but that never stopped me. I'd have gotten the SAE but I'd never use them. I was tempted by the...

    Tip/Trick of the Day

I looked all over locally for one of those when I was working on a friend's classic mini. The pickle forks were a paint and didn't work all that well. I want to get one of those for all the suspension work I'll be doing in the near future. Any online vendors that sell a good strong one? I...
