    Concrete and a lift???

I agree....not that much work for peace of mind. I assume you ordered 3000 psi concrete and after 6 months you are at 78% of your design strength of where it should have been at 28 days. Don’t forget that with the decrease in compressive strength you have also decreased the shear and flexural...

Concrete pure white when dry. Is there a fix?

Hi AMCguy When did you get this done....and how old was the concrete when the picture was taken. It does look like efflorescence to me from your picture. Muriatic acid (1 part acid to 20 parts water) will remove efflorescence. Mix it in a 20L bucket and use a car wash brush to wash the concrete...

    The Lower Cow Path

Thanks Drives. Luckily there is no odour of dead mice and such in the building, it still has a faint tobacco smell. Luckily I have not encountered many dead or living mice during the demo so far. By the looks of it there was not much insulating value left in the ceiling. My goal is to have a...

    The Lower Cow Path

Well, it’s been a couple of weeks since I have posted any progress but I have been busy. I started the demo of the inside of the shop and I am glad that I am taking everything down to the framing. The ceiling insulation is in horrible shape, lot of damage from rodents, so I am glad to be rid of...

    The Concrete Underground

Wow, what a build. Your house is incredible. I studied concrete technology in Alpena MI in the 80’s and my instructor always said....” you don’t pour concrete, you place it”. The fireplace looks great, did you use self consolidating concrete for it? Btw....glad you are back too. Eric

    Y8S' Place

Nice start on the cleanup. When my wife and I lived in town we could never get our cars in the garage, but I was a worthwhile sacrifice because I had my brewery in the garage also. Are you an all grain brewer? Eric
