I've never dealt with one of the spinny-arm tool changers but it looks like you've about got it whipped. I did have to adjust and replace all the split airlines on our "gently" used mill at work...it was pretty rough on the tools the first time I tried running it. Solidworks is pretty awesome...

I think we might need to revoke your ladder priveleges  Have you decided on a flavor of toxic sludge for the coolant sump in your new toy?

Nice work on the office, looks fantastic! I'm still running the computer I built in 2007 (refreshed in 2012)...due for an upgrade but I don't do any CAD at home so it hasn't been an issue. That is a tiny case you crammed all that in. I had a friend back in the day who built a fish tank...

I like your trick of rolling that one piece to define your cone sheet metal cut lines - quick and easy! Also, I see your hammering has gotten even faster ;) lol

Burns Projects that will never be finished

That build thread will probably kick off in a decade or so... I really like the AER forks. We've got a 2019 350XC-F at work with the AER forks and I was really impressed with how it handled our fairly rough PNW trails. I bought some 85 SX forks for my KDX; not the AER version unfortunately...

Bike is looking great! I am a big fan of ultra-lightweight dirtbikes - the 150 seems like the best modern option. I've got an 88 KDX200 in pieces I need to put back together one of these years

That is cool. I wonder if it would be worth it to add passive (a container) or active (vacuum of a sort that won't catch on fire from sparks) dust collection to the grinders and sander? You've got a good spot below that expanded metal for a vac.

    ZMotorsports Shop Projects 2.0

Great explanation Mike! I may end up buying one of these trucks to haul a camper around with in the future...do you consider any of these upgrades mandatory (or highly recommended) on a stock truck? I don't care about looks, but don't want to break a tie rod in the middle of nowhere on a...

    Tooling (Re)Organization

You can remove a coil but it will make the spring stiffer - there is less spring length to deflect for a given load. If the spring in its assembly has a lot of preload then removing a coil could reduce the force it is applying despite the stiffer spring rate - would have to analyze it for a...

Oof, that does sound like a rough couple of months. Hope your family heals up fully and work settles down so you can come up for air soon. "Kicked and kicked and kicked like a perverse Sisyphean scrotal speedbag." :ROFLMAO::lol::Violent:

Not sure how much mechanic work you plan on doing, but I'd consider moving the lift a bit closer to the center so that you have room to work between the lift and the wall - room to pull a rear axle out of a truck without the end of it running into the wall, and room to get a rolling tool cart...

Been a decade or so since I've messed with a BOV, but I think you have the gist of it - you need a spring strong enough to keep the BOV closed at idle, but weak enough to open when you shut the throttle. If you have a very fast responding boost gauge you could watch it to make sure the pressure...

Appreciate all the ERV info...need to decide what path to take for my old house here in the PNW. Do you still have standard exhaust-only bathroom fans?

Are those copper brake lines, or just copper-coated steel? I'd be very wary if solid copper - it can work harden and crack suddenly. I have no direct experience, but have seen it discussed when people use it for fuel lines. Looks like your Cobra is coming along nicely!
