Seduce me with your EMT runs...

That is a funny way to blame the women instead of the guy who destroyed his own family by being a complete jackass.

Seduce me with your EMT runs...

I ran all my EMT along the top of the wall and drop down as needed, has worked out nice.

Seduce me with your EMT runs...

I used double boxes for lights and left one side unswitched, has been really handy for extension cord reels and numerous random things.

Are 4" Surface Boxes worth it?

I went with the deep two gang/4x4 or whatever they are called and 3/4" emt everywhere and am very happy I did, more wiring room and I added another duplex outlet in most of them after using the shop for awhile. Plus a switch in one of them when I added a ceiling fan. And I used them in the...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT Breaking out of my self-imposed prison

I've been dealing with the same kinda issue in my 24x36 for the past 4-5 weekends. Too many good deals on too much cool stuff and no where to put it all, not to mention I don't need a lot of it. I just set little goals for myself each morning before I go out, like clean out a certain corner or...

Would you run this old stuff?

Stuff like this and also any old fire alarm stuff is always a good money maker for me. I got six boxes of fire alarms, strobes, pull handles, sensors etc out of an apartment building remodel last year and made about $4k selling it.

Electric lawnmowers in 2026 - any good?

I'm on year 7 or 8 with my Greenworks mower, still cuts great and the two batteries that came with it are still working fine. 21" Self propelled with a steel deck. I have a large, hilly, crappy yard that takes about two hours and 1.5 6ah batteries to cut. The Ego ones are usually considered...

    Aluminum 3D printing

I have used https://www.emachineshop.com for a bunch of different items, their free cad software can also tell you the cost of parts and give you tips for making your item better/cheaper. You can play with materials and machining specs to fine tune your part and cost.

    Question on block foundation

If you are really worried there are kinda thick flexible brush/trowel on coatings you can go over all the blocks with, makes it look more like solid concrete. I did it for some exposed concrete on a daylight basement wall just to make it look better. So you couldn't see all the form bolt marks...

    Solid or blocked corner

Same. I have done this about a million times and use inexpensive Diablo spade bits, they work really well but are cheap enough to toss after hitting a nail or two.

Separating metal working from other areas

No pic but we used 3/4 of a cheap oval shower curtain bar like for an old tub, mounted it to the ceiling, and cheap shower curtain to make a enclosure for a sanding area once, worked pretty slick. Have also mounted pipe to a ceiling and used with moving blankets and plastic sheets to do the...

OSB vs Metal vs Pallet Walls

Last time I used a bunch of pallet boards for a project I got them from a tractor dealer. Really nice wood and as big of pallets as I wanted. If you find the right place they will have better pallets. I once got some from electronic assembly equipment that were made of really nice 6x6 and...

OSB vs Metal vs Pallet Walls

You can get one of those pallet busters and a nail popper for pallets, makes taking them apart pretty fast. https://www.amazon.com/Dolibest-All-Steel-Effortless-Renovation-Construction/dp/B0BX547TQN?tag=atomicindus08-20...

Are the cheaper benchtop "precision" lathes worth it to have around for projects?

Unfortunately they cost 4-5 times more than the ones signcrafter was asking about. Unless you get a deal on a used one.

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT Design ideas for 850 sq ft shop

You could use some of that geogrid material with the grass growing in it to make it easier/less damaging to drive on when needed. I have used it in a couple places and it has worked really well. Just looks like grass but doesn't get torn up or sink when driven on.
