Looking at Metabo Cordless - Any experience?

I buy tools and components that are readily available. Metabo is getting more exposure but Milwaukee and Dewalt are available anywhere. Same way with my chainsaws and stuff. I'd like to try another brand like husky or jonsered, but lack of dealers and affordable parts aren't in the works around...

FWIW... I left my harbor freight Braun on the cross member of my truck for week before I realized it and it was still stuck there.

Will it hurt my vise to bake it?

Yeah, the aircraft stripper works like stripeze from the old days. Something interesting I noticed about it though...

    Flood light ?

I bought a couple led work lights at rural king. Mounted them in place of the arm burners on the stand. Work fine.

Pick a cordless platform for my father.

I bought a Milwaukee trimmer, when ya got the blower with it. Haven't fired my gassers since. It's not as strong as my stihl stuff, but close. I've cut some pretty thick stuff with it. I want to try a blade on it, but I need a left hand course nut. My stihl are fine thread. The blower works...

Anyone else get suckered by these?

The picture you see is a coiled hose, then air put to it. This was an experiment, three years ago when I bought it new. Yes, I was expecting something better than my Goodyear rubber hoses. I got a light hose, no better than rubber. But hey, when I was a kid, we were told cars would ride on...

Anyone else get suckered by these?

OK, FWIW I've been coilin' **** for 40 years. I bought a flexzilla for the ease of not having to coil. To me it's a scam.

Using jackhammer at 45 degree angle?

FWIW the hammer in the vid isn't a 90. It looks like it's hydraulic. Maybe you can get by with something a bit lighter. I don't know how heavy your ground is, but a 90's overkill. I'm like LX, many hours on one. Maybe in my younger years I might,ve given it a shot.

Using jackhammer at 45 degree angle?

Anything you strap to 90# hammer will be junk in a short time. Don't wear your wrist watch while hammering. I'd try to get by with a 45 or 60 or something like that. The only thing a 90's gonna do is make it hard to control.

    Work boots

My neighbor bought the same Redwing Pecos boots for 40 years or so. All of a sudden they discontinued them. He's been on the hunt for replacements for years now. Once these companies offshore their production, their products went straight to hell. Rocky boots is one good example.

    Work boots

I can't recommend any boot if redwings or timberlands don't hold up. They're as tough as it gets. I would gob the toes with the boot toe ****. I've worn all brands of boots in a road paving environment and most lasted a year. That walking in 300° asphalt, soaking them in diesel fuel, hydraulic...

Who makes the best gas can?

If you want it to stop when it fills, ya just leave the vent closed. They don't always stop flowing in time either. Besides, I never considered that to be a no spill feature anyway. You can put the spout in the tank and see when it's full... Let off the button. If you want to fill it with a...

Who makes the best gas can?

I've got some no spills, love em. I still drilled them and put vents in them though. All my cans I've drilled and vented.

Fine tooth ratchets solution in search of a problem?

"An old rule of thumb is that for a fastener to achieve full holding strength it has to engage as deep as its diameter. That implies about 4 turns on a 8mm bolt." That's one big problem I've run across... 8mm bolts that are 20mm long!! And then they come out hard all the way!
