You are correct. The sheet magnet stuff doesn't work. I bought some cheap magnetic socket holders that had the same stuff and they were a waste of money. Please post your finished product...I'd be interested in the magnets you use and how they work.

I used unistrut as well. I was a little uneasy just screwing the unistrut to the trusses (even with the small #440 hoist), so I laid a 2x4 on top of the trusses and put a carriage bolt thru the unistrut and the 2x4 with a nut and washer. The 2x4 is extended 4' past the end of the unistrut, so...

Made it out of scraps i had lying around.

Added 14" of blown in insulation in the ceiling. What a suckass job.
