I put my air compressor on a spring wound timer.

Understood  Still prefer not to have it running for days in the event of a failure. And I don't trust the cheap Chinese motor in mine to last with that kind of duty, regardless of thermal O/L's.

I put my air compressor on a spring wound timer.

To each his own, but I don't think you're understanding the scenario. Open a dump valve on your system (simulating a sudden burst/leak in a line) and see what your compressor does. I just blew out my sprinklers which is basically like having a constant leak and the compressor was running...

I put my air compressor on a spring wound timer.

^ I was the same way for 10 or more years. Then I read and realized if there was ever a leak or failure in any of the air lines the compressor would kick on and basically run forever. If that happened on a Friday night when I was out of town for the weekend, that compressor would run for days...

    220 Outlet Question

That spec sheet, like most, *****. You only need 2 values to figure out the proper circuit to run, voltage and input current and they give you a whole list of worthless specs and fail to give you input current. Then you're forced to calculate based on kVA, and assume what voltage (220, 230, 240?).

Re: All this work and she say's "it's only a garage!" Of the garage or the fiance? Probably need both to be safe.

12/2 Romex with ground for 230v minisplit install?

Say what?! Since when has that been the case? How do you mark then, sharpie? That's a lame method compared to tape, IMO.

Wiring an older 220V Spot Welder.. Help!

You have it wired correctly. Polarity of the black and red wires is not important.

12/2 Romex with ground for 230v minisplit install?

I would say he probably is knowledgeable, but you're nit-picking the use of "red", which may have been just been paraphrased by the poster. I think he was just explaining that the white had to be colored, be it black, red, blue, etc. Something other that white to indicate a hot wire. Point...

Conduit question... How should this be done?

Use a male adapter to thread into the metal LB. Or if it's not likely to be damaged, maybe just sch 80 PVC would suffice.

Conduit question... How should this be done?

My only concern would be the conduit and an LB sitting at grade on the slab, which is just begging for it to be stepped on, kicked and generally abused. I would be hesitant to use PVC, for sure. I would consider a short piece of rigid and metal LB. Or, how thick is the slab? Is it possible...
