Old Montgomery Ward (Hein Werner) floor jack leaks

As long as the ram looks good (no pitting) and the remaining parts are fine (sounds like they are), a seal kit should get your jack back into good running condition. Steven (Hiball) is a great guy to do business with, is always helpful and quick to offer a solution (as long as he is not playing...

    Identify Old Floor Jack

I don't buy from those guys unless I have to and I live about 20 mies from them.... There is a reason I get mine from Steven (user Hiball) as do a lot of others on this board.

    Quincy 325 Rebuild

Richard, The biggest problem you will have with that compressor is NOT using it enough. As noted, they are prone to rust in the valves over time if not used much but if run often, they will get warm enough to burn off any moisture on the seats. The good news however is that the valves are...

    Coolant Mist system

Have you thought about using a cold air coolant system? They don't use liquid coolant but can produce an air stream that will remove chips and cool your work when dry machining. You would be surprised at how well they work. They have a large range in price but for a good USA made one, try taking...

Symmetrical VS Asymmetrical 2 post lifts???

I guess the fact that you sell Rotary Lifts that do not have that design has nothing to do with your opinion...... If you have 50% of the weight (30% of the length of the car) in front of the columns and 50% of the weight (70% of the length of the car) behind the columns, they are still loaded...

    snap on micro boxes

They make a nice box to store your pocket knives at home. Another buddy of mine puts his pocket watches in a blue top and bottom chest.

Symmetrical VS Asymmetrical 2 post lifts???

I have had everything from a '64 Fairlane and '65 Mustang to an '05 GTO and an '06 F-250 Diesel on that lift without any problems. I don't own a Lambo that requires a lift arm 3/4" thick to be able to lift it but everything else has not been a problem. The lift arms are about the same thickness...

Symmetrical VS Asymmetrical 2 post lifts???

I have a CL10V3-2 Challenger that was bought due to the versatility of lifting either way. A FWD Honda or my F-250 are not a challenge with this lift. If you are looking at buying new and can stand the cost, they are a great lift with a great reputation in professional circles.

Any one use a tool box with 30" deep drawers

I will never give up my KRL 1023 (unless I get a larger, 29" deep box that is...). You have a lot more options storing your tools with a deeper configuration as long as you have the room for the box and be able to open the drawer fully.

Service Carts/Tool Carts All the Same?

It depends on what you want, my Snap-on carts are all welded construction, made in the USA and will take a lot of abuse. They are also under warranty for life, look good, match my roller and make me smile everytime I use them. To each their own, some people think I'm crazy to spend that on a...

    Shop Air Setup Questions

You must be using different air tools and spray guns than I do. Almost any die grinder, air drill, air ratchet or a bigger impact will outrun a 5 CFM pump. The HVLP guns I am familar with will use roughly 15 CFM at 30 psi and that will take a 12 CFM @ 90 psi compressor to keep up with it...

    Shop air line pressure?

I like being able to regulate the pressure at each drop depending on what I need. There are times when I will kick the pressure up to 110 psi +/- with an impact gun and less with others (blow gun, etc). It does help regulate the airflow when I'm blasting and someone uses an impact at the other...

    Shop air line pressure?

I leave the airlines at tank pressure and regulate each drop as required.

Does a pickup or full size van typically hit the vehicle lift overhead switch?

I added a 2' extension on my Challenger when I ordered it and have never gotten close to the bar even lifting a hi top van and a F250 crew cab super duty.

    swedish anvil, outrageous appraisal.

I brand new anvil from that company (Type A1) that weighs 672 pounds will set you back 30,600 Krona (about $4,558 US). That price does not include the VAT tax and is FOB at the factory per their latest price list. That is a little under the $20,000 figure being thrown around.......

Locking impact extension or Standard impact extensions?

I always use a locking or pin style extension with a swivel socket on an impact. Straight in with a regular socket where I can control it, I might use a non locking type extension. It is a safety issue with me and can save you a paint job or your teeth.

which to buy: new or used lift?

I looked and not knowing the maintenance history on a used lift or if it had ever been overstressed, I decided to buy a new Challenger 10K. It cost quite a bit more but the peace of mind I have working under it made it worth the extra cost to me. I’m currently pricing a 12K 4 post that will sit...

    snap on hand cleaner

Ask a local tech to get a bottle for you. I have a dispenser at the sink and on the wall in the garage and use Nitro Gold in both. Doesn't dry out your hands and gets them as clean as anything I have ever tried.

snap on krl 1033 or 1023

I like my 1023 and with the added side locker, have plenty of room for my tools. The top drawer is just right for my chrome sockets and the metric wrenches just fit in the second drawer. I will admit that I like the thought of the long top drawers on the 1033 however....
