    Start of my new shop.

Totally agree with Kevin54 on 24' depth. If you park a full size pick up or car, you end up being very crowded up front. We once had a 24' deep attached garage and it was a hassle. Also, not sure of your location, but doors on the wall side in snow country don't work we'll. Enjoy your...

    Anyone have portable propane generator?

I have a 10k Generac. It has been in service for 3yrs +. Runs off my 500 gal propane tank. Propane also runs our range, Lopi stove, and Garage heater. Generator powers all of house except dryer. It "exercises" (pushing no load) once a week. We have had several power outages over the past...

    Husky 60 gallon question

If it is like most pressure switches, they are adjustable. Look at you owners manual and see if you can adjust it.

    Hello from Northern Illinois!

Welcome. We have the "snow management" thing in common. NE WA mountains give me plenty of oppurtunity for moving snow!! You will enjoy all the good info here. Lots of good people with good ideas/advise. Brian

    One of "Those" Neighbors...

If you are just driving over it a few times during construction and the line is a couple feet or more down, just lay a couple layers of plywood at opposite directions. Make the crossing plenty big enough for the truck plus about 4' on each side. The plywood will displace the ground pressure of...

Do you want extra width or depth in a garage?

Extra depth always seems to give you the best floor layout. I would guess that given no limitations, 30X36 or 30X40 are probably the most popular sizes of home garages/shops. You might call a couple of your local builders a pick their brain as to their ideas. Brian

    Pex question

Wirsbo is great, but like others have said, the tools can be very expensive. Wirsbo tools are a little more friendly in the tight places. The fittings are also more expensive than clamp ring fittings. Both work very well and can make you look like a pretty good plumber with just a little...

Ideas for a Curtain Type shop divider

Looking for some cool ideas for using a "curtain" as a divider in a 30X40X12 shop. My work area and benches are located at the closed end of the shop. During cold weather, (which we have 5 months of) I would like to only have to heat my work area. I do lots of small projects during the winter...
