    Por 15

Using POR-15 on Concrete Concrete is a versatile construction material, but one with several disadvantages. * It is an alkaline substance and as such not only highly susceptible to chemical attack, but also chemically threatening to alkali-sensitive materials, like alkyd based paints...

    Por 15

Well when ever I use Por-15 I always sandblast the rust off. I guess I am doing it wrong :rolleyes2 I did a truck frame with Por-15, half of it I sandblasted, half of it I left rusty. Guess which half is failing. Sure you can put it on rust but it doesnt mean you have to.

    Por 15

My experience with por 15 on metal is that it kind stains the metal rather then just sitting on top. I would expect the same results on concrete. It might cost quite a bit to do a whole floor with it but then again a little por15 goes a long way.

Is a high lift door possible for me?

Here is my high lift angled track combo. The pic shown is a in progress shot, I basically had to figure it out all on my own. Even though I gave the door company the drawing of the height and angle I needed they messed it up. Took me a week of figuring to come up with the proper length of...

Tell me what you think of my garage plans....

Kinda is along the same lines as mine. The storage trusses I have in the middle are great, I have ALOT of junk up there and my compressor will be going up there as well. I had a 16' maximum height to work with and I wanted to be able to stack two 6' high trucks on lifts. I have scissor...

    Cold Heat Soldering Iron

The tip on mine broke after about 30 seconds of use. I emailed them and 2 months later they got back to me saying that the tip isn't under warranty. A new tip is almost as much as the whole thing cost. I emailed them back saying that I will be sure to tell everyone how great my new LED...

    I finally got a compressor

Where did you get those rubber pads? Are they specifically made for that purpose? I hope to be getting my Ingersoll Rand compressor delivered this week, I plan on putting it up in the attic and I would like to do anything I can to cut down on any vibrations it will make.

Car port add to the square footage?

It sure will around here. Check your local building codes, you even have to get a permit for a car tent here not that I ever got one :p

Fluorescent shop lights: 8ft versus 4ft

I got them at Home Depot up here in Canada 8 footers are $52 each Canadian vs $35 each for the 4 footers. They are made by Lithonia lighting. The T8's use significantly less electricity then the T12's and the T8's have bulbs half the diameter so you will gain at least an extra inch of...

Fluorescent shop lights: 8ft versus 4ft

They make 8' T8 fixtures with 4 4' bulbs. Best of both worlds, it is actually cheaper to buy 1 8' fixture then it is to buy 2 4' fixtures, easier to wire and half as many ballasts.

    air compressor

I think that I could have the freezing problem any where I put it, it just might be a bit colder in the attic. You would think that the switch on that exploding compressor would have defrosted from all the heat that it was making while running. Extra heat in the summer I could see as a...

    air compressor

Hmm, never thought about the drain part. I don't think the weight would be a problem, I have attic trusses with 2x8's for the floor part, it would be just like a couple people standing in the same spot.

    air compressor

Any thoughts about installing an air compressor in the attic? I have plenty of room up there, my only concerns are the high heat in the summer and the cold temps in the winter affecting it. I live in Canada eh so it does get pretty cold in the winter and the attic is not heated.

So I guess you have a gear mounted on the torison shaft? Is your torsion shaft solid or hollow. I was told I need a solid shaft if I wanted to use a jack shaft opener.
