    Slat Wall or Peg Board?

I've heard of using a very small dab of hot glue to keep the hook in place. Put the glue where you can easily get to it. Cut the glue with a razor or fishing line / dental floss if you want to move the hook. Jim

HF 44" Chest with butcher block top - moisture barrier?

If you're going to do occasional engine work like you say, I'd have have a few pieces of sacrificial tempered hardboard on hand to cover the top to protect it. Cover the top when you need to, remove it when you don't. Jim

26” or 44” top chest on 44” roller

All depends on what you plan to store in the drawers. I had a the 44" top and bottom with the added side cabinets. I gave this to my son when I moved and purchased a 26" top and bottom. Come to find out the shallow drawers are too shallow for most things other than ratchets, wrenches...

What do you use for lawn equipment fuel storage stabilization?

To set the stage - Honda single cyl. mower. E10 fuel. I run stabil-ized fuel all the time in it and the mower is run every week for about 8 months of the year. Use about a tank of fuel each week. Following the last cutting of the season, I run the tank dry, change the oil and air filter...

    Peg board choices

Your old PB was probably 1/4" and the thickest now at Home Depot/Lowes is 3/16" as I recall. I'm in the same boat as you. I don't know where to go unless it's a specialty lumber yard? If you find the 1/4" post it. Good luck & Happy Thanksgiving! Jim

    Some basic drywall questions...

I did a utility room approximately that size with a lift and had no problem with it being in the way. I'd say get the lift now, then you'll have it for the next job. After that, sell it if you don't want to keep it. You'll be money, time and aggravation ahead. Jim

    Some basic drywall questions...

I'll go against the grain here a little bit...Don't rule out using a lift. You can find them on CL, use it, then sell it for what you paid for it. A lift allows you to easily work alone if need be, saves your shoulder and neck muscles, frees your hands up to handle tools and lets you take your...

    Best retractable cord mount....

I have an old HF retractable drop light. It's no longer in the catalog but is similar to the retractable drop cord that still is. The internal cord stop broke about a year after I purchased it so I use the external cord stop that's on the cord. The wind-up spring still works fine so the drop...

    Garage Build

Yes, add some overhead outlets. Makes it easy to hang a cord reel and keep a trip hazard off the floor. If you plug a tool into an overhead outlet, you'll probably want to add some sort of cleat near the outlet to support the weight of the cord. Since you're going to have a sink and water...

Birds nesting under open air roof. Design.

Do you have a hose handy? If you wash the nest down before they lay eggs they'll probably build somewhere else, especially after they lose the nest a couple of times. Even if they don'd nest, they'll sit up there and sh*t all over the place so you'll want a hose to wash the area down...
