What would cause the outlet to burn up like this?

Ok what happened, I had a retractable extension cord plugged into the outlet. So I plugged in car battery charger to charge a dead battery on my father-in-laws CR-V which had a dead battery. Hours later I noticed that the changer was off (thought nothing of it). I tried to start the car and...

Alternative to bendpak rj45 rolling jack?

Hey I think that this bridge might be a solution, if not better than the rj45 rolling jack. It's $800, has a wide top base and comes with high-density lift blocks eliminating the rj45 adapter kit, adjustable wheels to roll on. The pump is manual. Not sure if that is a plus or minus. On my...

Milwaukee 46" "High Capacity" tool chest

I am happy see the manufacturers are going deeper. If it is like the other Milwaukee tool chests though, the single drawers are crazy shallow. I see Menards with their Master Force are 24" deep now. Those may be real contenders of the single drawers are deeper like the old master force or...

My Bendpak 4 post lift rocks...

as I said, not bolted down... I've seen Back Yard Buddy lift and it was stable (yes if you push hard enough it would rock but you needed significant effort). The bendpak rocks easy and I really believe that it's because there is no lip at the back side of the leg. I think if there was, it...

My Bendpak 4 post lift rocks...

I recently purchased a Bendpak 4 post lift and noticed that it rocks side to side (not front to back)... (I will not be anchoring the lift to the ground). I've seen other people report same issue... Looking at the design/footprint of the lift, plus that the bar with the slots (inside each of...

    Bendpak RJ45

Ok, you slide the legs out of teh RJ45 to fit the width of your 4 post lift. then tighten down those bolts so the legs do not slide in or out any more.. They don't have to be tightened much.

    Anyone familiar with WildFire lifts

Advantagelifts seem a much better value than wildfire... They incorporate secondary slack cable safety lock springs, aluminum ramps and a safety height shutoff switch to prevent you from lifting too high. I have been on the fence since BUT am I leaning towards bendpak... Reason is that you...

Affordable Garage Cabinets, Is There Such A Thing?

If you search there are state action sites that actions off state owned materials like http://wisconsinsurplus.com/ I have won full metal cabinets (built when they did not use the thinnest metal possible) for $15~$30 a 7ft tall x 3ft wide cabinets.

    Anyone have an Advantage lift?

I have been looking at Advantagelifts.us and wildfirelifts.com. As far as certified by ALI, I can't find the criteria but from reading the BendPak page that compares their lifts to Backyard Buddy it eludes that the BYB the cable is not tucked away where the BendPak is (as one reason that it...

    Anyone familiar with WildFire lifts

Anyone familiar with WildFire lifts? I have seen them advertising on craigslist and here is a link to their website. http://www.wildfirelifts.com/ It appears to be a knock off of the Backyard Buddy lift, except this uses 5" posts where as the Backyard Buddy is 4". Seems like a great deal...

Can I run a 90+ condensing furnace in the garage?

I have access to a horizontal 90+ condensing furnace and I am wondering if I can use this in the garage? I only plan on running the unit on the rare occasions that I need to work on the car or other projects in the garage. Rest of the time the unit will be left off. I have been told me that...

Mobile work bench and cabinets at Costco $299

I bought this a year ago (the one with the cabinets on top). I do not like the one with the cabinets on the sides (like in the attached thumbnail) as it takes up more space with out offering any advantage over having the cabinets on top. Otherwise than that, it well built with decent gauge metal.
