My favorite general purpose socket and bit set.

I just wanted to post about my favorite general purpose socket and bit set. The Genius Tools SB-276MS. I actually have 2 of these sets, one in each vehicle. For most general purpose handyman type jobs this set is perfect. I have never seen Genius Tools get mentioned on here very much...

Chrome sockets...the topic has been beat to death yet I don't know which way to go...

Yeah, not enough people know that you can just call Snap-on and they will send out warranty tools. If they want the old one back, they will send a call tag via email. Great service for the guy at home that never sees a dealer anymore.

Who's actually broken Chrome sockets with an impact?

I have seen hundreds if not thousands of chrome socket broken on an impact. It's easy to tell when a chrome socket has been on an impact, the peening around the square drive is obvious. -Former Snap-on dealer

Snap On Scanner: Verus Edge VS Solus Legend

It sounds like you don't use a scope. If you are not interested in or have plans to start using the scope features, then I would go with the Solus.

It's been years since I have dealt with an MT2500. From what I remember, there is not a better scanner for OBD1 cars.

    Snap-on 1/2" ratchet head broken/stripped bolts

The known issue was with the first generation of dual 80 1/2 drive ratchets. There was never a head redesign or update on the 936 series ratchets. It is up to the user to maintain the tool. By your own admission, you used the tool when it was in a condition that needed repair.

They used to make one for a kit. I think the part number on the kit was PH3050CH4.

    Snap On KRL blue trim

They should be available as a custom order using the 3 letter suffix after KRL722. You are correct about the fact that these were a special offering to dealers at an SFC several years ago.
