Again - you're making my point about reading. I agree PVC is a non-starter. The OP EXPLICITLY asked about stuff that is NOT PVC. Other people made ***(umptions) and derailed the thread, and yet other people continued their name calling for anything that isn't metal.

    air line

The blue stuff (ie, Rapidair) is NOT PVC. The components are from Parker. Certainly there are drawbacks, but safety is NOT one of them. Just as there are drawbacks for black pipe or copper. For those saying "search is your friend" in this thread, and referring to PVC, I humbly suggest that...

    Trailer Winch Advise

So at what price point would you set that more than just the cheapest winch out there is all you need? Serious question. $25K? $50K? $75K? The reason I ask is because the winch is a tool, right? I prefer quality tools. I agree that a monstrous platinum plated winch isn't necessary. But...

    Trailer Winch Advise

If I'm going to be moving vehicles worth $100K, I want at least "some" quality. Adding wireless controls add cost and clearly put you over the $150 mark.

    Trailer Winch Advise

A 3000lb winch should pull the bronco in under normal conditions.

    Trailer Winch Advise

Not always. I'd LOVE to have a wireless controller for my winch rather than the extended wire. If you're loading/unloading a somewhat wide vehicle in an enclosed trailer, and the vehicle has a (very very) expensive paint job, and if you're by yourself, the wireless control would be great. My...

    Trailer Winch Advise

Warn, Smittybuilt, Superwinch - all good. HF may be OK if it's pretty infrequent use and you make sure you keep it covered. Freewheel out is REALLY nice to have. My Superwinch in my 24' enclosed trailer doesn't have it and it's a PITA pulling the cable out 40 35 ft.

    Bicycle tools?

Like others have said, more generic tools like T-handles and regular allen wrench sets you can get anywhere. It really doesn't matter. Some things like bottom bracket wrenches, crank arm pullers, Cassette tools, headset tools, etc - either Park or sometimes Shimano, Pedros, or Campy. You can...

Do 6-point box wenches have any advantage over 12-point Flank Drive/Wright Drive/etc

So you've never run into a nut or bolt that was rounded enough that the flank drive would slip, but a 6 point would not? Honest question because I've got a couple flank drive crows foot flares and I'm honestly not all that impressed. I know flares are totally different than boxes but it just...

Help with wire size for a 50 and 30 amp circuit...

Are you friggin kidding me? Did I say running #8 to a welder plug was definitely going to cause a house fire? Why don't you learn to read? The POINT is why not do it "right" instead of just making an asanine comment like "waste of money". Geez. I guess you're right. There's just no...

Drilling and anchoring 2 post lifts

I would totally disagree with this post, and question the "out of ten bolts installed, one will fail" statement strongly. Frankly, there are too many misconceptions about the epoxy based anchors and this statement reflects those. Many epoxy compounds can be used in holes with water in them...

Help with wire size for a 50 and 30 amp circuit...

Why do you say that? There's a lot of resistance at 70'. These are exactly the kinds of issues that you read about in the news. House fire kills 5 - more at 11pm.

What Type of Metal Pipe for Compressor Line?

Vonhef, I thoroughly understand this. Beyond engineering, I'm a pilot and things like air density, depoint, evaporation and sublimation are core to my safety. What I meant was that I would like to see some measured quantifiable data showing increases in moisture resulting from the use of...

What Type of Metal Pipe for Compressor Line?

Torque, first off, he should keep his comments to himself about making a fundamentally stupid conclusion that post count on this forum is in any way related to experience. That is perhaps one of the most ridiculously flawed statements I've ever seen on a board. And no, there is no troll here...

What Type of Metal Pipe for Compressor Line?

Btw torque, yes I know how to use a slide rule. And for example when I fly, I use a manual e6b flight computer. That doesn't mean I dismiss the new alternatives.

What Type of Metal Pipe for Compressor Line?

E-tek, if you're really going ton assume experience based on a pst count in this forum I humbly suggest you keep that fundamentally flawed logic to yourself. As stated, I have all my own (well used) pipe dies and pipe vice and have run thousands of feet of pipe. Inhave no issue with either...

Help with wire size for a 50 and 30 amp circuit...

Are you serious? Not being sarcastic. I'm not an electrician, I just slept in a Holiday Inn Express..... Seriously, I just ask a lot of questions to do my own work and recently ran some 40 and 50 amp circuits.
