    motorcycle lifts/tables

There aren't many parts you would need, and I think I can make them. Sad that they're gone though. It was a quality product so much better than the knockoffs it isn't funny.

Anyone get a new Furnace and AC in their house recently?

Don't forget - newer high efficiency furnaces have different needs in terms of ducting, venting, etc than older ones. It would be a tremendous mistake to simply buy a new HE furnace and swap it into the same location as an older furnace. Could be life threatening. It could also prevent you...

    motorcycle lifts/tables

I've got a 30 yr old Handy Air lift. Built like a tank. Bought it used for $250 from a shop going out of business. It's great as a lift when I need it, and I keep it against the wall to use as a shop table when I'm working on the GTO rather than the bike.

    MaxJax and Crew Cab

Well the new ones sure don't Weigh more. Just be careful. A failure with that truck off the ground could easily be fatal even if you're not completely under it. If the lift post is trying to support very uneven and heavy weight distribution not even front and rear extra supports eliminate the...

    MaxJax and Crew Cab

The issue I would have is the weight distribution. The maxjax is rated for 6k but that assumes that the weight is evenly distributed. The range of how unequal the front to rear bias can safely be narrows as you approach higher loads. Trucks are notoriously front heavy. Again, I'm conservative...

    MaxJax and Crew Cab

I have to say, we each have our own circumstances. However, my shop is only 20' wide and my ceilings are way less than 10 feet. This is my shop and not my "parking garage" so maybe that makes it different. However, if I had 26' of side clearance, 10' ceilings and could knock holes above the...

    MaxJax and Crew Cab

Are you putting the lift outside? Because regardless of the weight, if you're using a MaxJax you probably have height restrictions and will not likely be able to lift the truck much with the lift. If you have taller ceilings, I'm not sure I'd choose the MaxJax. I really enjoy mine, but only...

Am I alone in wishing Maxjax lifted higher?

I can understand wanting it a little higher, though it wouldn't do me any good. My guess is that they had to compromise somewhere so that it wasn't "too tall" for low ceiling garages - otherwise there are taller lifts available. In my case, I can't even use the highest setting in my garage as...

Socket Storage. Can I see some ideas?

I used to have those socket rails. I hate them. I tried giving them away and nobody would take them so I threw them out finally. The clips sometimes just didn't hold the socket in, they were always out of order, nothing to remind me that I had not returned a specific socket..... You're the...

Socket Storage. Can I see some ideas?

I use these, and can fit all my 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" drive deep, shallow, SAE and Metric sockets in one deep drawer. The size label on the top of each spike makes it very easy, and since starting to use these I have not lost a single socket in years. As opposed to many other solutions, grabbing...

Sure. Drill pilot holes and then drill to spec. Shouldn't be a problem.

I think in some shops, mounting the cart might make sense. Like if you had a really narrow garage with the lift posts up against both walls and you needed to really get as much as possible out of the way. But excluding that, it seems to me that mounting on the wall saves no space, and just...

I would not use a standard galvanized steel fitting on even a low pressure hydraulic system personally. It's low pressure from a hydraulic ram perspective in comparison. It's WAY high pressure compared to normal use for galvanized pipe.

Re: MaxJax Hose question. The only thing you mention here that worries me is the length. 24 feet and 38 feet is a LOT of hose. You may have some issues there for a couple reasons. First is just plain bleeding. That's a ton of line to have to bleed. Second is priming. The reservoir may...

Re: MaxJax Hose question. No, I have one original hose on each side, and one of the sides has a swivel fitting attaching a second hose to it. Pretty much like you describe that you thought about. The lift works fine, though as mentioned the one side does lift an inch or two before the other...

Agreed. Terminal delivery can save you some money. And the packaged Maxjax will fit in the back of a full size pickup even with a short bed. Without a forklift you'll really struggle attempting to unload the pallet intact, but you can just cut the banding, unbolt the pieces, and remove items...

MaxJax Transport, Install, Impression, and Comparison

I went a somewhat similar route. I have modified the hydraulic line setup and run the lines all overhead, coming down a wall where I have the cart. I really didn't see the point of actually mounting the unit on the wall directly. So the lift is essentially "free standing" with hoses running...

You might want to get those directly from Dannmar, as they are of unknown manufacturer and the specs may be a bit wonky compared to what I'd consider "better quality". Or, just replace them and buy extra so you know you've got a consistent and quality fitting. The thread size for attaching...

That store is a Parker shop, so they'll have what you need and the quality will be excellent. I got all my parts at a similar store. They won't be cheap - it's not cut rate junk - but it'll be worth it. Like I said, the differences in quality between the hydrualic couplers I got from the...

I don't have any pics of the result, but honestly there isn't much to show. You might want to rethink getting a short hose and just connecting the two existing hoses. The reason is that if you want to get hoses completely off the floor, then both hoses need to go straight up aligned with the...
