Looking For Advice On My 32 x 48 Detached Shop Build

Looking For Advice On My 32 x 48 Detached Shop Build

So I got home today after they took the forms off to find out they removed the pad insulation prior to pouring the floor along the front wall where the garage doors go. The only reasoning I can think of was because of the bevel at the door opening and the traffic would crush it? I think the...

    Curb around my shop necessary?

It's funny when I got the quote I was talking to a friend and he asked me if I had gotten any other quotes which I hadn't. The contractor I went with was vetted by my wife (she does HR for a living) and a 5th generation resident in my area. I proceeded to explain to him that having a...

Looking For Advice On My 32 x 48 Detached Shop Build

My contractor stock piled wood last time it was cheap(er) as well as standard windows and doors. Garage doors were ordered in mid August. Right now it looks like trusses might be held up until Nov 1st and garage doors are expected mid November.

I like this contractor though, he's really easy to work with and pivots easily. At the end I'm sure...

Looking For Advice On My 32 x 48 Detached Shop Build

For security, we're moving the bottom of the windows to 8'. The main front man door will be a normal dead bolt. For the back I'll probably rig up some kind of security bar. I'm not terribly worried about it but idle hands... I considered going with this setup but I couldn't due to the...

Sept 23, 2022: Shed moving day! I wish I had taken a video of this but they ended up moving the shed on the pad one piece over to a prepped location behind the shop! I was a little nervous on this one so I forgot to take more pictures and videos. Also started prepping the pad:

So if I'm using the dimpled floor insulation with pex and 32mpa concrete with fiber mesh, should I lay WWM over the insulation/pex?

This is what I want done. Only downfall is I guess I'll loose some internal size unless I have him do a 6" x 6" stem wall

He says if I want it, it has to be formed and poured after the slab is poured and it would be extra cost to me.

    Curb around my shop necessary?

My shop is currently being excavated for now. The design is a slab on grade and I mentioned to the contractor that I wanted to have a 6" "curb" poured around the perimeter for the walls to sit off the floor. My contractor doesn't think it's necessary as he uses sill plate gasket and vapour...
