That could also work but may become unstable depending on weight. It would also limit you ability to clamp through the slots, plus the grate offers a lot of support to the top with adding complexity and more framing.

welding and plasma table design ?s

How about this, saves lifting the grate out and gives you more flexability. The two front posts can be used as recievers for things like a vice. I will upload the model to the 3d warehouse when it lets me sign in.

    Garage Design Software

So why can't you do this with CAD? Perhaps things are quite different here in Australia. Local Councils no longer do building certification. This is now done by private contracters who work on the Council's behalf. We are in the process of designing/building a pergola that continues an...

    Lengthen garage?

Now that you have made some friends  What would be wrong with using the same technique for the front of your garage? Perhaps as previously suggested, supplying some photos of the garage and the boat would also help. Fact of life is not everyone is a mind reader and "demanding" that all...

Whilst I agree wholeheartedly, I didn't want to start a debate on the matter. Thanks for your input guys, I spoke to a sparky about it and he is happy for mt to run 48 X 36W fluros off 10 amps, but he suggested I run a 15A 4 switch gang, and run them in banks of 12. In case you are wondering...

    Electricity + Maths = A)fire B) smoke C)WIN?

So here is a theoretical question, of course no-one condones unlicenced electrical work, so this is purely for circuit design purposes. This is based on the Australian 240-250V single phase system. Volts * AMPs = Watts so 240 * 10 = 2400 lets say 80% safe usage = 1920 W a single fluro tube...

I'm Torn between keeping mine and getting rid of them. Admittedly we have a different climate here. Aussie Floor coating for workshop?

Thanks Mate, epoxy is not good for my application. Freight in Australia is a joke at the best of times, but I suspect that this is just added profit margin.
