Does anyone here have a sealed painted floor in a workshop / working garage?

No totally correct. We had granite benchtops installed in our old house. After the tops were installed he went over the top with a wax type product which he burnt into the top with a gas burner. ten years on you can spill beetroot juice on it and an hour later wipe it off without any stains...

So if you know who did the work, why aren't you chasing them to fix it, surely you have an over seeing body to whom you could complain to?

Wow nice plans/ideas, pretty close to my dream shed! I it were me I would suggest the following: 1: large door instead of two small ones, would make it easier to get cars in and out, also allows more air movement, and lets you drive a car in along the length of the building should you ever need...

Perhaps a rough drawing of the layout of your house and block might help with productive suggestions? I would think that a lean to, built to match your home would be the most likely to get through?

This man speaks the truth. Cost would have to be on par if not cheaper then 2 coats of epoxy and 2 coats of 2k paint.

What type of metal roof? In australia There are several types and is the prefered/common method of roofing. Have you got any pics of your roof/trusses?

I think that would work well, I would almost suggest making the doors for you bench/cabinets the same.

Yes rollers in the track. I have had a look for something similar and this is what I have found. http://elraco.com.au/index.php?cPath=773_777 While you loose some wall space having benches/cabinets to collect dust etc inside would be less then ideal. You could of course build a bench on casters...

True but, for me, I spend 12-18 months restoring a car and then probably spend a week painting, so even having to move things would be worthwhile for an extra 3.5m X 7m of shop space.

Hahaha, I would airbrush a tunnel with a train coming through behind the door! two I think, but the base is supported on rollers.

You may have seen in my intro thread That room is at a premium in my home shop. I was on an airbrush forum the other day and one of the guys came up with the most brilliant idea for making the most of his space.
