Reality shows with unlimited shop equipment

I gotta admit though, when Don had his car done by those guys, I almost felt like I had a connection with it somehow. It was cool to see Don's shop in there after seeing it here on GJ so many times.

Harbor Freight 3 Day Parking Lot Sale Today

Hmmm, I must be buying the wrong ones. Last fall I bought an 18" chain on Amazon for $19.99 shipped. The old chain was waaaay too trashed to sharpen without replacing teeth too.

    Mennonite 'barn' build (30x40)

Why is it that every time someone sees a picture of snow, some smart *** has to pipe up with the oldest joke in the book? Because they don't know any better? Hell, I lived in Dallas for 20+ yrs & we saw snow quite a few times. Even had a lot of fun in it. To the OP, great looking barn. I'm...

    Converting from CFL to LED

I have been buying LEDs for the house a few at a time since January. The first few came from our local power company & look very much like the ones in your link... dimmable 60w bulbs that I installed in our kitchen. The first issue was a flicker that we noticed, very slight & only when dimmed a...

Would I be better off with an air tank or small compressor?

I have the air tank. It does the job for airing up tires in the driveway or away from the house. But the compressor would be nice for other things, ie; nailing up trim upstairs, using in the shed or backyard, etc.

I'd just buy an attic ladder at Home Depot or Lowes for less than $200 & call it good.

Size ratings for CFL and LED bulbs?

I've been doing the same thing, replacing old fixtures, getting rid of the incandescents & installing mostly LEDs & a few CFLs (mostly because I had them on hand already). I picked up a lot of the LEDs from our power company, a few from the local Home Depot, a few from Amazon & some from Costco...

    Best budget/aesthetic workbench top

I built mine out of 2x6s, like you'd build a deck. Then put masonite on top of it, the thought being that as the masonite got thrashed from beating on things with a hammer, drilling, cutting, spilling oil on it, paint overspray, etc, that I could just replace the masonite as needed. It's been...

    Buy tools with pot

Not really anything new in WA state. Where I see it a lot is ads for a house/apartment rental or share situations....they will say something about being "420 friendly". Kinda like the green door of a bar, club or tavern being a discreet sign that they serve alcohol. That goes back to the...

Best, cheapest domestic vehicle OBDII scanner

There is a problem with the ELM bluetooth adapters. You can find 100 guys online who have experienced it. All I can say is be sure you buy one from a reputable company/person with a return policy. I bought one with the same problem, swapped it for second one & it works great.
