$99 Ryobi electric pressure washers back in stores.

I have the older one and just had to replace the plug on it the other day after the GFI crapped out on me. I mostly use it for washing cars but I did use it to clean the siding and porch last year. It can get the siding done but it takes a little more patience.

Dry well drain in new garage

Bingo! This is step one, check your soils especially at the depth you are planning on the bottom of the dry well to be at. You could have sandy loam soil on the surface and clay 3 feet down.

    Garage wall poured to high

Home Depot and Lowes has the veneer ranging from $60-$120 for between 8 and 10 SF, and about $60 for per corner piece. That all adds up really quickly. Do have any links for what you purchased?

    Garage wall poured to high

Love the stone veneer, I have been thinking about eventually doing the same. My house has about 30" of exposed CMU foundation showing all the way around. Previous owners never did anything to coat or cover so it just bare CMU. How was the veneer cost? I saw prices varied widely in my brief...

    Garage wall poured to high

This. You say you expected it to be about 18", but what did the plans say. Regardless this will look better when all is said and done.

    Sewage pump thoughts

Yup, replace with a quality brand pump and forget about it for the next 5-10 years. Not worth the risk playing around with cheapos IMO.

    Lumber quality

It's terrible. I was just at HD buying a 2x10 for a floating shelf project and a few 2x8s for a planter. It probably took me a half an hour picking out 4 boards that were just OK. The 2x8s didn't need to be anything special so I wasn't as picky but the 2x10 being a shelf in the living room...

Water tank: Well-X-Trol or Water Worker?

I bought 2 Water Worker tanks (HT20HB) just a few months ago to replace a single 38 gallon WellxTrol tank that failed. During my research I found that Water Worker was made by the same manufacturer as WellxTrol, and had the same warranty. Also plenty of favorable reviews can be found online...

How to Find Property Marker Behind House

Some counties also have online parcel mapper/viewer which usually list the lot dimensions to the nearest foot or so. Good enough for a tape or wheel.

How to Find Property Marker Behind House

Do you know for sure the corner is marked? some aren't. If the property isn't too wide grab a 300' tape and the known width of the lot and this will get you a general area of the stake. Then a metal detector might be needed from there.

    Easy space efficient bicycle storage

I bought this for our bikes. I just screwed a 2x4 to ceiling and mounted the pulleys to that. Not the highest quality but cheap and effective. With 10.5' ceilings I can just walk under the bikes without hitting my head. (mounted in the middle of garage)...

    Flexible Expanding Garden Hose

I bought a similar style flat hose last year for washing the cars so I didn't have to drag the real hose around the house. That P.O.S. lasted only a few weeks before the weave started coming undone. It was supposed to be kink-less and it kinked more then any hose I have ever used. Damn thing...

Dear Sears (5 years from now)

Don't want to beat a dead horse but I used to go check the clearance area anytime I was there too and the "deals" were laughable. Items returned that were clearly heavily used or damaged only 25% off at best. I've seen a wrench set missing wrenches only marked down 10% or so when 30% of the...

    Permeable Driveway Options

In theory as the snow melts it drains through the pavement eliminating ponding and ice. Not sure how ice on top of the snow is something caused by the permeable pavement itself. Permeable pavement is best used in areas with good infiltration coupled with a stone reservoir under the pavement...

    Permeable Driveway Options

A gravel drive is only permeable for a short time. After being driven on it will compact to as hard as pavement which is why it is considered impermeable. Permeable pavement should not form ice since water does not sit on the surface. That is assuming of course the subbase infiltrates. Any...

    Permeable Driveway Options

This. As an engineer who works predominantly in stormwater depending on what they actually want this could cost you big bucks. Ask specifically what they want to see, they most likely just want some permeable pavers or something rather then a complete treatment system. What is the driveway...

Unique wedding ring- need help pls

My buddy does fab work for his motorcycle side business, he put a scrap piece of aluminum in his lathe and made his band for $2. If you know someone with a lathe this is the cheap way to go. You can easily find titanium rings for $50 and under if you do some googling, mine is titanium with an...

    Landscape Architect

Once again if the local nurseries don't have that cool unusual plant that you paid a bunch of money for someone to tell you to put in, then what is the point? Seems like you looked to have some cool factor in your design which is awesome, but that is not practical for someone who just wants...

    Landscape Architect

In the industry for 9 years myself and the past 3 have been in a firm doing site engineering on large residential subdivisions and commercial projects. My group has two landscape architects on staff who focus primarily on grading (more so then actual landscape plans) so I guess they have to be...

    Landscape Architect

The value of working with a nursery will be to have plants specified that are actually available locally. You could pay someone big bucks to spec a bunch of plants that are either out of budget or not even readily available in your area. A larger nursery can tell you what they have, cost, and...
