Why Non-Contact Voltage Pen Tester? What is need?

I’ve used greenlee and fluke. The fluke is far superior in my opinion. I didn’t like the battery twist cap and it came apart after being dropped. Been very happy with the fluke. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Narrowed it down to 2 heaters.. Now which one..

Either unit will output the same heat. Is the remote worth $60 for your intended use? I used a heater similar to the cheaper unit for a while in my 30’x40’ garage. It was undersized but did help until I installed the natural gas heater. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Where did you buy your car charger?

I use the BatteryMinder 12117 chargers on my lawn mower and four wheelers: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000P23HZS/?tag=atomicindus08-20 One thing to note, be careful if your power goes out for a long period of time these can drain your battery. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Input on New Garage Plans

Another thought, is 40’ deep enough for two lifts? My garage is 40’ deep and I’m not able to fit two trucks lengthwise. One truck and a short car wouldn’t provide much room to work around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Input on New Garage Plans

Nice layout and planning. Why the cathedral ceilings? Are you gaining height for lift or just like the look? I’d save the money and use regular trusses. I’d think air from your heater would flow better with a flat ceiling and you’d be able to insulate cheaper. Sent from my iPhone using...

    Estimates on BTU required

I think you’ll be happy with the 80k unit. Good catch on the ceiling height affecting the choice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Estimates on BTU required

I keep my garage around 55 degrees and bump it up when I’m working out there. On a cold winter day (0 degrees outside), I’d estimate it’ll run 10 minutes once an hour. I’m sure a smaller heater would work as well, but chose this unit as the cost increase was minimal and physical dimensions were...

    Estimates on BTU required

Sounds like you’ll be well insulated. I’d guess about 75,000 btu. That’s what I have in my 1600 sq ft garage with 9’ ceilings (R38 in ceiling, spray foam in walls). I’d suggest having a heating company quote it. Then you can see if it’s worth your time and they’ll size it for you as well...

Anyone ever have the power company evaluation?

I had an energy audit done a couple years ago. It was free and I’d recommend it. I was hoping they’d calculate cost savings of adding insulation to my attic, however the calculation they provided was very generic and was the same as on their website. He did upgrade my garage thermostat to a...
