    car lifts?

They make different kinds of lifts for different needs. There is not really a popular lift around here since everyone's needs are different. I'll venture a guess and say a 2 post might b better for you since they take up less space and you did not mention anything about needing additional...

What's up with all the Generic Titles?

I think we've just upped the cool factor around here by 10%, at least!

What's up with all the Generic Titles?

Am I the only one who doesn't like the generic "My garage build" or "New 30x30 garage" titles? It makes it very hard to reference all the good ideas in these threads. Would it be out of line to suggest including a name or user id instead of the generic My's and Building's etc?

    Safeguarding house

Do you have an electric attic fan in your house? What type of heat do you have in the house, forced hot air? I understand the garage does not have either.

choosing between two 4 post lifts, help!

I don't think one is more sturdy than another. I think it is more about packaging. The overhead typically requires more ceiling height AND provides the clear floor between columns. The floor/baseplate can be configured to fit in applications with lower ceilings, AND/OR can offer higher lift...

    Hoffman 2 post hoist

I've found you should oversize the drive when you are running single phase in and three phase out configuration. For example, if you've got a 3 hp 3 phase motor, you should choose a 5 hp drive.

choosing between two 4 post lifts, help!

Just because you re-wire the motor for 220v, does not change the speed of raising the lift. You'll need more volume out of the pump or more speed out of the motor. Neither of these happen when you simply re-wire the supplied lift. I'll have to agree, the GS style lift will do it for most...

    "lifting" a lift by 1"

The BYB does not have any provisions for anchor bolts, so no concern there. I have raided 4 post lifts on the racedeck plastic tiles without issue, but it has only been for about 48 hrs during shows. Since you car probably had less surface area where the tires contact the ground, I imaging the...

What kinda lift do you have?

Which side are you positioning the power unit? It looks like it might be a little tricky to get out of the car if you've got it on the rear side of the driver's side.

    Horizontal boring

I have plenty of customers who use the HDPE pipe in low pressure sewer systems. Cost can really vary, depending how rocky the soil is. It is still less expensive when you factor in the restoration costs of traditional open cut jobs. Most guys I know doing it with HDPE for LPS do about 500'...

Your experience with freight liftgate service?

It is not part of the drivers job to get it off the truck when they arrive. If you've had a fellow who has done more, consider yourself lucky and tip the man. This is one of the biggest obstacles with people trying to buy internet lifts. Sometimes it pays to buy locally.

    Garage almost done

Looks good. Everytime I see a Starion/Conquest I ask my wife not to let me get one. I love the way they look, and had an 87 a long time ago. They are an expenive car to own. What are you planning to do with yours?

    hoist install???

If you listed to the clicking sound of the saftey locks and use them as a guide- tightening the equalizinf cables should be obvious. You'll want to put a little tention on each, then adjust. Probably will make your adjustments to the "slave" side- meaning the hydraulic ram furthest from the...

    mid rise lift opinions

Both the GS and Complete are made over seas. Anything at that price point will be. Both of these guys are established and I would have no worries buying from them. I happen to think most of the Complete equivalent products to GS are just a little better. Heck, even GS's son Gavin has...

    mid rise lift opinions

I've set up both the GS lift and the Complete version of it and prefer the latter. They are both very similar, but I find the power unit with the dolly base has a narrower wheel track on the Complete unit, which makes it easier to manuver the lift (it hase a tighter turning radius). I also...
