    The thread of Dimple!! Finally.

They're a one-off (or two-off, lol). Just aluminum holders for added coolers on an '06 Dodge Magnum SRT8. Thanks. ~0.090 material.

    The thread of Dimple!! Finally.

Here is a little dimpling on some aluminum holders for the oil and ****** coolers on my current daily driver. And here is a project that I was involved in, back in my off-road (Baja type) days. I forgot exactly how many dimpled holes we had, but I think it was into the 100's.

    Compact cordless drivers

I have an older 10.8 Makita set (same except for the newer 12v batteries) from when they first came out and it hasn't missed a lick. Li-ion batteries still work great. I use them for all sorts of things. They are probably my handiest tools. The only thing that mine doesn't have, that the newer...

    Welding question........

Most diffs that I used to work with in the offroad industry were cast iron. I forgot what the TIG rod I used, but I think is was specifically for dissimilar metals. It might have been the 309 rod that shiftdrift mentioned.

Torch set or Cheap Plasma Cutter

You can also cut nonmetallic materials like fiberglass, etc. Cover the area to be cut with aluminum tape and of course, wear your respirator.

    sae vs. metric

Maybe it is Chinese. I've seen it on tools from HF, Lowe's, Home Depot, Gearwrench, and maybe some others. I imagine that Snap-On and Mac only offer the complete sets.

    sae vs. metric

My biggest pet peeve with metric wrenches is that they leave out so many sizes. I guess they can sell the set for cheaper, but I think it is stupid to leave some out. My '06 Dodge uses 16 and 18mm and my previous VW bugs used 11 and 13mm, which a lot of sets don't have and sometimes I can't...

Torch set or Cheap Plasma Cutter

Also, remember that (clean metal) fumes from a plasma are far more dangerous than a torch. There are lots of heavy metals in the plasma fumes. Always, always, always wear an appropriate mask. A proper air evacuation set up or water bath can be used with a mask, also.

    sae vs. metric

I have probably equal amounts of both. I think the engineers screwed up on my '06 Dodge Magnum SRT8. To bolt the motor to the ******, there are two 7/16" bolts, four 3/8" bolts and the rest are metric. The ****** is basically a Mercedes transmission and the motor was a brand new platform in...

    CGA 580 valve/CGA 540 valve

It looks like the 580 is a bit larger. Here, this might help. Also, you can take the 580 fitting and see if it threads into the tank.

good color to paint the garage

Great looking walls, folks. Yep, you can never have too much light. Here is mine, gray on bottom to cover dirt and marks, white on top including ceiling to help in the light department (my eyes have been better), and a blue strip for a little prettiness and an area for all electrical and air...

    hand cleaner

My hands don't do well with the citrus or petroleum hand cleaners, as it drys my skin out, big time. I went back to Lava soap, in bar form. It is amazing how well it works. Although, sometimes it is tough to find. I do find Lava in a liquid/pump setup, but it seems to act just like the citrus...

GearWrench 8pc Reversible $29.99 at Advance

Nice find, but I sure wish they would include all of the sizes. Looks like they are missing the 11, 16, and 18mm sizes.
