Yeh the end of the selector switch is peened over, which youll have to do again once the new kit is in. Ive got the same ratchet, love the feel of it.

Just measured my SO L-710 and the measurements on the gear u posted are exactly the same except for the thickness of the ratchet head. Mine is 3/4" versus your 5/8". I measured the total thickness of the head of the ratchet, is this how you measured yours also?

I would bet $1 that the repair kit for a Snap-On L-710 ratchet would fix that ratchet you have. Ill try to find the repair kit number.

Seems like techs who only work on one certain brand of vechicle can afford to not have many tools. Guys who work on every brand under the sun have tons of tools. I still cant believe one guy working out of a hand carried box, just wouldnt be able to do it.

Friend of mine sheared the anvil off a 88tooth 24" long 1/2" matco ratchet, never skipped on the pawl once. I thought the same thing you did about the fine tooth ratchet but now I have no questions. I have some Gear Wrench ratchets w/ the 88 tooth kit and couldnt be happier. No idea about the...
