    Plastidip Opinions

Um, all the cool kids are doing it these days. I know quite a few people that have done some nice work with it. http://www.dipyourcar.com/forums/showthread.php?13663-DOTM-Winners-Album http://www.dipyourcar.com/forums/showthread.php?13663-DOTM-Winners-Album and if you get sick of it, you can...

Cordless tool batteries going dead over the weekend

How long are your batteries out of commission? As in not being used. There is a whole science on how to maintain them, especially for an average DIYer who rarely pushes the tool. I would google cordless battery maintenance. I abuse mine, hard, hilti, makita, dewalt. Batteries last me about 4-5...

    Anything better than Tapcons?

Good practice is to clean out the holes with compressed air. I usually have decent results with tapcons. But you don't have compressed air everywhere you have a job, nor do you need it, so those hit pins are worth their weight in compressor.

    Anything better than Tapcons?

We even use them to hold the metal studs and track to block walls and concrete floors. If you screw up, removing them is not the most fun, but that's why you measure twice. So fast, so easy, and so strong. I make sure I don't run out of these.

    My 2-Car Porcelain Tile Install....

Wow, looks great, and you are moving fast. I like the layout. The fact that you didn't do the border around the perimeter is telling me you want to go up the wall? If so, I like it even more.

    Thoughts on wood flooring?

What you want to do is very simple, and doesn't even require a ton of prep or labor. If you want to do planks, go for it. I will try to describe how I have done it multiple times in basements and below grade, on dirt floors. What you are going to want to do, is build a wall frame structure...

    My 2-Car Porcelain Tile Install....

I can, but they keep feeding me **** that they have to order it. The one time he gave me a 5 gal it looked like it was from 1950 so I passed on it. But yea, when I need it, I can't get it in more than a 1 gal.

Please School Me on Standby Generators

I figured I would update you guys. Bit the bullet, sort of. Bought and installed a Kohler 14kw unit at my inlaws. I offered to front all the expense, if they would let me try and install it myself. Took me about 3 days total. But I read the instruction and followed them to a T. Have to say, I...

    Stripping and Repair

If that happened with paper, imagine a warm tire. Forget about it. The fact that the product had the word Pro in it, means nothing either. I would not invest more to do a patch job.

    I should'na done that...

You would understand if you did half the stuff on your floor that I do. I don't know about your fancy concrete, but my lopsided mess was just that. I couldn't roll anything, I couldn't hose it because the water went to all the wrong places. I couldn't sweep it, as the pores held everything in...

Okay to tile on smooth floor that was power troweled?

Just tile it. I tiled over an epoxy covered deck a few years back. It's the in-laws house, nothing came off. And I was sure something was going to fail by now, but no, still there. If you want to be sure, thinset a tile to floor, and then try to remove it. I still do that from time to time just...
