Makita and Hitachi both make good el. screwdrivers. But probably out of your price range. I have Hitachi and like it a lot. Overkill for "around the house" use.

Sounds reasonable to me. In my experience a hammer drill is almost totally useless on concrete compared to SDS. But perhaps they can be useful on softer materials I am not familiar with. Concrete - no. "hammer" is not a feature I would pay for having SDS on hand.
