Craftsman has 1/4" drive impact sockets???

I have some of the craftsman 1/4" impacts that I bought on clearance about 2-3 years ago. Sears dropped them along with the made in USA impacts and changed over to china made impacts. You will probably only find 1/4" impacts in old USA made combo sets.

Can you buy just a framing hammer head?

This is great advice. The only time I see a steel handle being good is if you are doing work that totally abuses the hammer. Most concrete foundation guys use steel handles because the wooden handles get messed up and splinter. When I framed I used the "Woody". See if any of you know what...

The cost of sentimental attachment to a ratchet set

Loscaldazar is correct. I bought a 3/4 drive ratchet at a garage sale one day that was broken for 5 bucks. Took it in and got a new one. Did I feel bad? NOPE. The people at the garage sale could have traded it for a new one then put a $30 sticker on it and I would have probably bought...

The cost of sentimental attachment to a ratchet set

Actually, there's nothing wrong with what he said. Because you purchased a ratchet to use to repair the other one you are still entitled to the lifetime warranty. The reason he's saying order a ratchet is because they don't stock yours in the store. They may not stock the rebuild kits. The...

The cost of sentimental attachment to a ratchet set

I would try this sooner than later. The internal gearing and parts from china are not the same as the older USA parts and aren't interchangable. Who knows how long they will have USA made kits available. I used to run that department and have built a bunch of ratchets myself. Some older kits...

    Detailing Cart

I would consider something made of plastic or other soft material. Metal tends to have some sharp edges and you wouldn't want to run it into the car and scrape the paint. If bad things can happen, they will. But that's my luck.

    Gearwrench fail

Take it to Sears. They replace them there just like Craftsman.

warranty on box store hand tools HD/Lowes/HF

I used to be a Manager at Sears and understand the frustration with tool exchanges at Sears when employees do not understand the return policy for Craftsman tools. The policy states.... "If this Craftsman hand tool ever fails to provide complete satisfaction, return it to any Sears store or...

What are Flare Nut Wrenches for?

I checked out the Sears web page you looked at. All the new polished flare nut wrenches are made in China. So be prepared for that if you buy them. I used to be a Home Improvement ASM at Sears so trust me, they will most likely not be the professional branding as shown in the picture. If...
