    Hot Tub wiring?

Yep. I wired up my dad's hot tub and I was prepared to do a 50A GFCI breaker only to find out that it required a 20/30. The package he bought came with the panel and breakers at least, so all I had to do was run the wiring and hook it up to the hot tub.

    Best tool to cut bricks?

I know the problem has already been solved, but if someone was looking for a concrete saw, I have a recommendation. Evolution R300DCT+ https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08P1Y9H1H/?tag=atomicindus08-20 I used it to cut a step in all of my foundation blocks for my 36x60 foundation. I used it...

    Aerobic Septic System

I just finished installing our anaerobic system. It's traditional with 100' of line per bedroom in a gravel bed, so 600' of lines with a 1500 gallon single chamber tank. The health department approved the install last week.

Finishing a 2x4 ceiling using Foam Board

Yep. This is my house I'm currently building. Roughly 18' span on 14" TJI's, too.

    LVL bearing points

You typically buy LVLs by the foot or two foot increments, so you're buying 11' or 12' of LVL either way. It would be silly to cut 6" or 18" off of the LVL to get to the minimum bearing distance, especially since you can fit a 12' LVL in the space. Are you doing 2x4 or 2x6 walls? Either...

Finishing a 2x4 ceiling using Foam Board

Around here, we just set floor joists or trusses at 24" OC and slap 1/2" drywall up to them without an issue or sag. No strapping or anything.

Outdoor wood boiler radiant floor heat

If you set it up as a secondary loop, the primary loop pump will not move any water in the secondary loop by design. You'll need a small pump to move the water in the secondary loop. You can tie the secondary pump to a transformer that is tied into a thermostat (a slab sensing kind is better...

Has anyone used Amazon pex manifold for radiant heat

The Bluefin branded manifolds very similar to what you posted through Supply House are $260. They have flow meters and valves just like the Amazon ones you posted.

    Acid stained floors

What grit should I sand with? Could do a coarser cut and then a finer sanding to smooth out the swirls?

How do you use your ladder to get on the roof?

It's still a 1st class lever. A 250# load 1 foot from the fulcrum (average husky male one run above the eave) has 25# of leverage on the foot of the ladder 10' away. That's more than enough to move the foot of the ladder.

How do you use your ladder to get on the roof?

THIS. I can't believe how many people don't know this or understand how levers work.

    Acid stained floors

I just read your articles yesterday. How does this sound (after educating myself a little better)? Delta Dye and TS210 matte sealer. Should I need to acid etch my floors? They were power troweled and water doesn't readily soak into the floors from what I can tell. I have a concrete...

    Acid stained floors

That stain doesn't seem to have a color like I'm looking for and my wife definitely doesn't want glossy finish.

    Acid stained floors

We are building a house on a slab. The concrete is about a month old at this point. We're maybe a month away from drywall. The wife and I decided we want to do acid stained floors in some sort of grey or slightly darker (not black) color, but a little more exciting than just sealed concrete...

Outdoor wood boiler radiant floor heat

I was recently trying to figure this very thing out. Look up primary and secondary loops. You can run the 160-185 degree water in a primary loop that runs from the boiler, to the house, and back to the boiler. You then can pull secondary loops off of the primary for the floor zones. Use the...

*UPDATED* Bare concrete floor in house? *Help Needed*

Well, this thread made me change my mind on flooring in my house currently under construction. I was going to do porcelain tile on the entire first floor slab, but a few days before we poured the slab, I decided that acid stained floors looked good and wouldn't prohibit me from doing tile later...

    Radiant tubing layout questions

Perfect. I don’t need the pressure tank or the valve to protect the boiler from low temperature return water. The outdoor wood boiler is a no pressure system, considered open but has a water bladder for expansion and contraction and it is actually closed with a rubber burp valve on top of the...

    Radiant tubing layout questions

Can you explain or draw how that would work? It seems as though it would totally isolate the boiler loop and the floor loops from each other and I can't imagine how that would be beneficial, particularly since I don't see how the flat plate wouldn't just heat up the floor loops to the same...
