Vise Mounting - what side of the bench do you use? Left or right?

Left side, righty, started out this way because when I built my workbench it was in a corner and the left side was the exposed side. Now that just feels right.

Haven't checked in this thread lately, glad to hear all's well with the baby girl! Mine's 9 months and change, and growing like a weed! Sorry to hear about the accidents... my '13 camaro got hit 3 weeks after I got it... and again less than a year later. About $12k in body work in the first...

Workshop on Lake Lanier - 40X50

That's one heck of a shop. How did you make the flat straps work that the concrete guys put in the slab? Also good to know about Heritage Truss... I may build a shop next year and they're super close to me. Not sure how much of it will be by my hands... wifey isn't interested in having a half...

    Gun safe heater ideas?

Increasing the temperature will lower the relative humidity. Same amount of moisture is in the air, but it's less likely to condense on other surfaces by heating it.

    sk premium membership

I got that too... thanks SK! Aside from that, I'm kind of on the fence about whether it's worth renewing. The discounts are "meh" and the free socket choices are a bit limited... but I'm using it to build up a 12pt set.

Lathe Aluminum Stock, where do you get?

Not always. If I have a project that's going to take a lot of material I'll drive to the local supplier and load up. But for onesie-twosie bits and small pieces, a few bucks more to have it shipped to my door is worthwhile.

    Northern Tool Homak Pro Series

I have no issue with its durability other than the slides that were replaced under warranty. I haven't weighed the contents of the drawers, but I suspect unless you're just cramming as much in as possible with no organization in there you'll run out of space before you run out of weight limit.

    Northern Tool Homak Pro Series

I got the set about 5 years ago for the same price, minus a $50 gift card rebate. Like your use case, it's been for home shop use. I'm satisfied with it. I did have a couple slides fail but not heavily loaded ones. Guess they just had something wrong. The heavy drawer still works fine. At this...
