As for the locking flex heads, I've never understood the reason for the lock. I've never needed or wanted any of my flex head tools to lock in place. The freedom of movement is the exact reason I like to use them. I don't even like the ones with detents.

I have a set of Blue-Point flex-head ratcheting wrenches that have (I think) the same feature. They're basically 12-point on one side and 6-point on the other. They are my most reached-for wrenches. I don't think I've ever encountered any negative aspect of the design.

Maybe the sloppy adjustment screw is the reason they're liquidating them at $8 ea?

In my garage, I only ran the edging in front of the garage door. On the other side of the rails I cut tiles to fill to the wall. I don't think it would be a problem to cover over the end of that sunken ledge. I seriously doubt you'd be walking or placing anything on top of it.
