If it's a front load washer, that might be your problem. Search that, you'll find plenty of issues with smells from them.

I used to use one of those on top of the legs, with a few 2" flat circle type speaker magnets underneath keeping it in place. Now I have a heavy moulded plastic one designed to fit in place.
