    Shop Stereo Options; Lets Discuss

Bootleg? I understand the legal limit for nonlicensed fm transmission is quite low. I had a sirius car radio that would transmit to the house, but after it came back from repair of a bad screen, I could barely pick up its signal in the same car. It seems they got in trouble with the fcc & had...

    Scam techs

4 years ago my sister was quoted $14.5K to replace the 10 year old AC unit in the attic of her 900 square foot Ranch. Told her she need to upgrade to the new refrigerant. Luckily the 2nd opinion told her about the duct that came loose from the plenum & charged her $400 to repair it. Been fine...

    Best Landscape Fabric?

I’ve had bad luck with the woven fabric, weeds grow and their roots make their way through the fabric and they were very tough to pull. So last time I used regular six mill black plastic. 2 to 3 inches of decorative stone over the top. It’s been years and still working great. There is a layer...

    Jackshaft garage door opener recommendation

All this, but the big thing for me is the notification to my phone anytime the door goes up or down. And to be able to check its position at any time. Wife leaves after me & sometimes the door somehow is left open... Like many things, I thought it was unnecessary fluff, but now I wouldn't...

How do you cut MANY 2" holes in thick Styrofoam insulation

Maybe a hole saw, grind the teeth off & sharpen from the inside edge. Or sharpen an exhaust adapter the same way, push & twist. If you need really clean holes, laminate trimmer with a straight bit, guide bushing & a template. Or what Nutts said above ^

    Need advice

Zoller pumps are great, but thier switches ****. My tank alarm (luckily Grey water) would go off seemingly on the coldest, windyest (sp?) day every winter. Always the switch. I kept spares. Then bought an extra pump, & just rotated when one went out. Then I changed to a remote switch, &...

    HF Engine Stand Drip Pan

I used to use one of those on top of the legs, with a few 2" flat circle type speaker magnets underneath keeping it in place. Now I have a heavy moulded plastic one designed to fit in place.

    Tightening loose spline engagement

Just couldn't help yourself? In terms of tightening it up, wondering if you could crease some brass bearing shim stock to fit in there. Or maybe assemble it with some JB Weld?

    The Garage Journal V3

But the only reason other people read the thread is to get information for themselves. So I don't think the people reading it particularly care if the op is still around. I think it's better to continue to add information instead of starting a new thread. Makes is easier to find info when...

Sanding down subfloors to get level

    4. Install your flooring, plane the rise off the bottom of the baseboard & forget about it. Wont be noticable, & when the furniture is in, it'll be forgotten. Its an old house, these things are expected. PS, depending on the size of the area, taking it down with a handheld belt sander might...
