Plumbers........Does it hurt anything to have an inline trap on your toilet run?

I have a drain that runs into the main collector, that drain has a trap on it but it does not get used enough and the water evaporates and lets odors come back through. Would it hurt anything to put a trap in the 3" line that constantly gets used just head of where the drain drops into the line...

80 Gallon Vertical Air Compressor Installation Size?

Could any of you guys with an 80 gallon Vertical Compressor with a tank mounted pump and motor give me some dimensions on it? Most of the dimensions I find online state 42W x 48L, that seams kind of large to me compared to looking at them in the store. I want to place a drain under it prior to...

Which layout is the most functional?

I am not sure which route to go. The one on the left saves me a door, and leaves me a nice corner for stashing my mower and a few things. I will have a 12' shed roof down the right side of these that I am hoping I can box a third of it in for a machine shop some day. The car on the lift...

Any experience with harbor freight hoses?

Looking to pick one up, something along the lines of 100'. Every hose I have ever had ends up breaking at the brass pressed on coupling. I typically cut them off and have my local hydraulic guys fix the ends with some good hydraulic fittings so I am mainly concerned with the rubber. I...

Any concrete finishers in the house? Need some Fresno trowel information.

I just purchased a Fresno trowel. I expected it to have mounts on it similar to my bull float (with a tilt mechanism). Much to my surprise it has a bolt with a swivel head on it. I am just curious how it works, I have been looking for youtube videos of it, the only ones I have ran across show...

Air, Water, Electrical lines in wall or run them exposed?

Curious what you guys do, or what works the best for you? I am building a new shop so I can run everything in the walls. I am pretty sure I want to do this with my water lines. With electrical fixtures I am wondering if I wouldn't be ahead to run everything on the outside in conduit so it is...

Will 100 amp service be enough for this equipment?

I have 400 amp service at my house, 300 dedicated to the house and 100 that I planned to run for my shop someday. Well my plans have grown some. My shop is about 80' from my panel box. I had my electrician stub wire for a 100 amp service out of the house prior to doing any sidewalks. I...

Does the physical size of a capacitor matter?

I order a new capacitor for my air compressor. All the ratings are the exact SAME (capacitance, heat rating, etc). But the old cap was about 5" long and 1.5" in diameter and costs a couple hundred to replace through lowes. The new cap is 3"long and 1.25" in diameter. I hooked the new one up...

Air Compressor motor is bogging down.....could it be the running CAP?

    Pole Barn Foundation Size

What size do you all typically dig for the pole foundations? I am comtemplating a couple options. Pour footings with concrete and insert anchor bolts with a base plate for a 6x6, and go up from that to eliminate wood below ground, shorter post are cheaper as well. Then there is the standard...
