Indeed, I don't recall if Armstrong made stubbies, but they definitely made short, regular (CM RP, Allen, KD, Kobalt), long (Snap-on standard), and XL (Snap-on long) combo wrenches. I attached a pic of 14mm Craftsman RP, KD satin, NAPA satin, Armstrong polish 6pt., and Armstrong regular black...

There are slight differences between each brand's wrenches, especially the satin versions, but I didn't realize the Armstrong 6 points were shorter than usual... I'll dig mine out tonight and check.

I like patina, and that one is great, so I'd clean it up really well, make sure there's no bad rust or significant damage, and clearcoat it with something easy or wax the hell out of it.

Finally! My local, probably corporate store used to run Carlyle pricing at around 40% off list every so often, and seemed to have given up in the last two years, but are doing so again. I think it might be the last NAPA in Seattle... The problem with NAPA and Carlyle is that it's very store...

Nope, that argument's pretty much indefensible, the seller is committing fraud. I understand where you're coming from (caveat emptor!) but people have a legal and moral requirement to be honest when they're selling stuff. :beer:

:thumbup: Yes, this, keep a stack of clean new blades handy and replace them often, and make sure to keep the glass wet.

Using your wipers dry to clear dust and chaff will also scratch up your windshield glass, I've learned...

I've cut a lot of blackberry cane at my mom's place with Fiskars extendable shears, and they've held up well. They're great for getting stuff cut back flush to chainlink and hog panel fencing. I haven't had any of the problems mentioned in the reviews...

That site is for Australia and the UK- look at the bottom left corner for the little flag in a drop- down menu. I was really confused why all the ratchets cost twice as much as I remember.

I accidentally left a 1/2"x 9/16" DOE wrench and a loose Stanley framing hammer head in a carryon several years ago... they took the hammer head and let me keep the wrench. :headscrat

Vaco Bulldrivers have larger than average handles... not sure where you find a good assortment of them these days, though.

I'm not Dave, and I'm not trying to help poke the beehive, but Tekton makes it abundantly clear on their website that their angle wrenches are made in the US.

I'm waiting, somewhat patiently, to luck into a set like that at a good deal price. I don't need them much, but when you need them, they're awesome. Any time hydraulic fittings are clustered together they're fantastic.

I'm interested to see what others post- I've pretty much settled on using very thin Atlas gloves for most everything except really pokey stuff. I'd rather adjust my techique if possible to grab the stem where it's not as developed (down near the root, or between the thorns) than rely on the...
